2025-26 Roster Thread

DL, either you can catch the ball or you can't.
Either you can grab a rebound without slapping at it, or you can't.

I have watched every single game of his career. I have yet to see how he has lived up to his rating of when he came out of high school.

If it is the coaching, hopefully Phil Jr. has the magic pill. We have been waiting for it.
Only Matt Painter …out of all the coaches in the world…knows how to pass the ball

Entry passes and working with bigs on regular??? Yes..

About 99.9% of college coaches for whatever reason are inconstent at best at teaching guards how to work the 2 man game with bigs...

The last time I saw a coach actually work with a point guard and a big on the post up game was 1993...Jimmy Lynam with Scott Skiles and Gheorge Muresan..

Watch the video...notice how Gheorge repeatedly receives the ball HIGH on his outside where no one else can reach it..then he starts his move.. every other frickin 7' on college basketball receives the ball in traffic at his knees or when posting up..how hard is it teach a guard to throw the ball where only big can reach it!!??? Morons..

talk about hyperbole 99.9%

DL I seriously doubt you have been to more than one or two college practices ever ( perhaps I am 99.9% sure of that )

1. Fermin can't catch or score
2. No point in throwing a post entry pass to a big that can't score
3. We're not going to play through the post because we recruit bigs that are rollers not post scorers. Yes, there's a difference and yes Mo was a roller too.
4. Anyone on this forum can get a pass to a guy that's 7'7
5. Expecting A10 guards to be able to pass like NBA guards is dumb. Like expecting an 8th grader to be able to do calculus
6. Mason sucks

Maybe some fresh coaching will help Fermin cure his butterfingers

My guy won a few games last year. I expect this year too. You cant deny that outward high pass to the center though.

Did you ever see that video where Phil Jackson and Greg Popovich talked at length about how great of an influence Jimmy Lynam and the 1993 Bullets had on their respective coaching styles?

Me either.

The only person that could possibly cure Fermin is Fred Biletnikoff, and he is 82 years old. And the other problem is, once Fermin catches the ball, he's not going to be able to pass it, shoot it or dribble it.

General Big man coaching rant:

How can the coach NOT Teach his guards to throw a good pocket pass or entry???

how do you expect a 6'10 big to catch a pocket pass thrown at his knees or ankles...then bring it up and not have it stripped by active hands?

Or if the big is triple team in the lane then the guard needs to make a layup rather than passing it..

Same with an entry pass...throw the ball high to centers outside hand where only he can get it...

The only coach in college basketball who does it is Matt Painter!
DL, rebounds are not at his knees. He can't catch those either. Don't give me a story about him blocking out opposing players as to why he is a poor rebounder. The dude is 6'10", he should be able to get a few rebounds purely by accident. He has poor hands, not sure a coach can cure that.
