This is great to hear. Excited Tilery remains a ram. He will have all the time, staff, facilities and tools at his disposable at VCU to develop into the best bb player he can be, not to mention dozens of life impacting majors if he also decides to grow his mind. All he has to do is bring a good attitude and strong with ethic. I’ve never seen a Ram team this wide open regarding minutes and roles. If he can do one thing really well that the coaching staff needs of him he will see some minutes.
so rare for my players to hone their commitment after a coaching change. i can’t wait

Class of 2023 Lazar Djokovic was one of the best players in Debrecen and improved his stock immensely at the World Cup.A versatile forward at 6'10, was able to do a ton for Serbia. Can score as a floor spacer, shooting from outside or getting to the rim, on cuts, post ups and in transition. Has good verticality and finishes above defenders. Has the ability to park his man under the rim before going up. Shot well from 3 and has show real development on that are, despite there still being things to work. Willing passer, was able to find teammates in different situations, especially from the perimeter on cuts or in transition. Goes after rebounds from the perimeter, has the size, grit and anticipation to come away with offensive boards.Covered a lot of ground defensively and never stopped running. Has great mobility and fluidity for his size and doesn't take a play off. Had some trouble on closeouts, letting his man go by and some situations where he over helped and left a shooter open. Comes from the help side to deny penetrations and force bad shots. Really good at fronting post players and come away with steals. Rebounded well and initiated a lot of quick transitions for Serbia.

Stats (per 36): 18.0pts, 61.2% 2pts (8.5 att), 37.5% 3pts (2.8 att), 59.1% ft (7.6 att), 8.8rebs (3.6 off), 3.8asts, 1.2stls, 2.6tov, 0.5blks, 20.8% usg

Love seeing them passing to the cutting big man. We rarely did that on our squad.....a lot of drive and kicking it back out. But rarely did we try backdoor passes to the big man screener, Ferm or Luke or Belle. Would love an active big like this on the team. The highlight reel didn't show much on his defensive side though.
And it's not a huge jump from the CAA to the A10 so he would likely fit in with the level of play more quickly. It would finally give us the much needed 3rd leg to the stool. Get him up to 240/245 by this fall and we would have a much stronger paint presence. And honestly, his offensive skills are much better than Luke's. (albeit Luke was just a freshman). I think it would be an upgrade for us.
But you can see in Luke, when he played over the season, he really began to show more skilled movement around the basket, better ball handling and more comfort playing at the college level. I still think he has huge potential if he has good training opportunities to develop his game, more game experience and doesn't get over recruited.
As far as Luke, it does seem like he wants to move back out west. Best of luck to him if we fill his position first.
