I would not jump to conclusions on Chaikin's post. He could just legitimately be wearing a VCU hat in a picture while hanging out with a buddy. He's from the area (ish) so that wouldn't be shocking.

That's true. FWIW he hasn't signed yet and on UCSD MBB's IG they have commits/signees posted but Chaikin is nowhere to be found 🤷‍♂️ Now there's another transfer, Bol Dengit, that's committed but isn't posted either so take all this with a grain of salt. But speculation is fun and Chaiken's 48% 3FG would be much appreciated on the roster lol
