Recruiting 2025 Offers

He's taken 195 shots in 18 games and . . . 47 minutes, or 2.6 minutes per game.

I tend to think the stats are unreliable, but what do I know

Something doesn't add up. He's taken 195 shots in 18 games, so he's taking almost 11 shots a game. However, he only plays 2.6 minutes per game. So, he's taking ove 4 shots per minute. That doesn't compute.

Why? One thing you should be aware of is that they don't actually list minutes played in their individual game stats. Other than that, his stats look very good.....16 ppg, 55% from 3 pt range.

I'm not saying his stats don't look good. What I am saying is that there is ZERO chance he has put up 11 shots per game, playing only 2.6 minutes per game. That's what doesn't compute. There's a number missing some place.

And I am saying that only their very first game and then a game half way through had minutes for players. All other games on the stats sheet showed 1 minute for every single player on the entire team for all their other games. You can't even consider the time stats.

Thank you for clearing that up. I knew something wasn’t right about the numbers. I didn’t look at individual game stats.

It will be interesting to see if Dennis Parker, Jr. stays at NC State or enters the transfer portal. He had some very promising games as a freshman but seems to have difficulty getting minutes this season. I still believe there is some serious basketball in him if given the opportunity. My guess is we will be prioritizing guards in the Spring and although he is listed as a guard he is probably more of a small forward.

I could see Parker as a possibility, if he's portal bound, but have no idea if that will happen. Yes, he's small forwardish, but we have guards in Jennings and Hill, bigger forward in Belle and kid from Newport News, who's name is not coming to my feeble mind at the moment. My question would be shooting ability at that position. If Odom sticks around, that's a three point shooting position and DPJ hasn't exactly been killing it for distance. Maybe that's do to lack of minutes. IDK. He certainly has other parts of his game that would be helpful.

I have a feeling you are going to see a lot of players transfer from NC State after this disasterous year. I saw them play against Texas in person and it was not pretty.

Hard pass on DPJ
