UMass @ St. Bonaventure- 7 PM
Now that VCU has the win we sit and watch tonight's games. We would like Duquesne to beat Loyola and Bona to beat UMass. Boom! then VCU has a one game cushion ahead of UMass and is tied with Loyola for 2nd place holding the tiebreaker. Loyola has to play at the Palumbo Center and UMass is at the Reilly Center.

Actually, if Bona beats UMass it would be a two game cushion over the Minutemen.

Thankfully, for tiebreakers, SBU & GW are way behind us in the standings. Looking like Dayton, Loyola, Richmond & VCU will start separating from the pack.

I need more coffee this morning. It is Mason who plays Loyola at Eagle Bank. We want Mason to win that but they are Mason so hope is all we have. Ha!

The Ramblers only have one top 5 matchup left on their schedule. Would be nice if they dropped a game on their DMV road trip.

Yep. VCU needs them to trip up because their remaining schedule is pretty weak.

The analytics seem to have some interesting predictions…

Bonnies 6-3 for the rest of the regular season
Duquesne 6-4
Loyola 4-5 (?)

Torvik is showing 5-4 for Loyola and 4-4 for us.
I don't think I see four losses in the remaining schedule. I guess it only takes dropping one if we lose out to Dayton and Westhampton spins out a home win, so I get it - but I don't see four losses. I also didn't see losing to Norfolk State, though. It's been an exciting season. Constantly on pins and needles.

Sure it's super Early... but the Nat'l Champ. is over. Might as well get it started. So if ya'll see any games for next year go ahead & drop em in.

Also Just for Future Reference.....
Rowdy or @Violet Ram is there a way figure out which opponent on today's slate (OOC or Conference) statistically would bring the greatest impact to our NET if they won?

I don't think so. NET's formula isn't public. Plus you would need to add scoring margins. For games involving opponents playing each other, it's likely a zero sum game though there may be a minor benefit for someone winning against the better team (note if we play one team twice and the other once, the team that we play twice will have a bigger impact on our NET).

With my rose-colored readers, I think the analytics are way off for us. As noted, last night was just the 8th game (of 23) in which we have been at full strength. I haven't been able to find a cumulative games-lost list, but seem to remember we were one of the most-impacted teams nationally w/r/t man-games lost.

We shall see.

Be wary of the tremendous UMass home crowd…
