RAMS FINISH FIFTH AT CAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
FAIRFAX, Va. – While it may not be exactly where it wanted to be at the end, the Virginia Commonwealth University men’s track & field team knows it has a bright future.

Need proof? 11 of its 16 point scorers at this past weekend’s Colonial Athletic Association Championships will return next season. The Rams finished fifth at the meet, marking the first time in the past seven years that VCU was outside the top-three.

“Of course we’re disappointed in the final standings, that’s never where we want to be,” Head Coach Julian Spooner said. “But I’m proud of the way most of our guys went out and battled. It was a tough year with a lot of different injuries and a fairly young squad. Hopefully, we’ll learn from this experience and be back for more next year.”
