The Phoenix would be kewl - - since the place did burn once and well it's obviously still around.
 
Somewhere I posted that the Wren building on the W&M campus is the oldest academic building still being used in the U.S. There is a stature in front of the building of Sir Christopher Wren. You will remember that their president got into a whole lot of trouble removing a cross from the
Wren building. When I was a freshman there, freshmen had to bow down to Sir Wren whenever we passed it.

It wouldn't surprise me if they called themselves the wrens!

I suggested that they call them The Royals (they deserve it more than KC)
 
How about the William & Mary Monarchs?

If they get a new mascot, they need to change the team name. I like the Wrens, it's kind of original, alliterative, and Christopher Wren has a lot of history there like Doc said. Isn't the chapel named after him as well?
