League A10 Basketball: news and discourse around the league

Saint Joseph’s beats Dayton 81-74

Duquesne beats Loyola Chicago 71-59

Can the new A10 commissioner relegate Loyola Chicago to the Summit League in men’s basketball? They are a joke

Texas beat #21 Georgia by 20 today. SLU should move up at least a spot in the AP Poll and Coaches Poll next week.

More proof that we just need to win the games in front of us and not worry if that performance will be good enough to beat a team next week. The coaches can worry about that.
I agree. However, as long as the coach and the players understand we are good. Let the fans have fun.

The A-10 is just disintegrating today.
No it’s not. It’s demonstrating that all our teams are solid and that we dont have many if any days off in this league.

The best thing to happen if we want to get at least an at large maybe two is if gmu or VCU can both beat SLU once and then lose nor more than 3 games total.

It could happen.

Ernie was the BEST. I loved the way he delivered Mike Tyson-caliber blows to the forehead, and when his victim regained consciousness, they were cured of whatever ailed them.
Yeah, I tried that once, my parishioner hit me back. I stuck to anointing after that. :o

Josh Schertz is going to get PAID this offseason, whether it be via signing a new coaching contact to be head men’s basketball coach at a P5 conference school or via SLU extending him to a more lucrative contract. After this season, he has 4 more years and $8 million left on the original 6 year / $12 million deal he signed at SLU.

I wonder if Dr. Chaifetz would chip in some coin to keep Josh Schertz at SLU.
If they can find a way to keep him that would be great for them and the A10. But we're still going to beat them in St. Louis if we shoot decently.

I think this is what is wrong with College Basketball. This guy has never coached a team into the NCAA tournament. He was barely above 500 last year and their SOS schedule.

Yes, he was a solid DII HC but DI to DIII is a huge jump. Let’s at least let the guy get into the Dance before he basically does what he is being paid to do. Oh and it would be cool if he could do it in multiple seasons. However, the guy is in the first half of a season where he might get a bid. We have to slow our role on this one.

And we complain when HC’s leave. This is why>. This guy has done literally nothing, yet to prove he is ready for prime time or a raise.

@Scuffy McGee I appreciate what you are doing but @RowdyPkunk maintains the opponent tracking thread which includes daily schedules and updates for fer all in conference and out of conference opponents.

Is it possible for you to keep all the scheduling and game updates in the opponent tracking thread.

Now it's confusing where to go.
