Anthony Lee -- Visiting VCU Soon!

Re: Anothy Lee -- Visiting VCU Soon!

Just wanted to bump this to the top and remind folks to show Anthony some love if you see him on campus this weekend.

Re: Anothy Lee -- Visiting VCU Soon!

Get him plenty of time in the paint with the Landlord. Hopefully Shaka and the boys have got some good stuff planned for him. I suggest the same itinerary as Mr. Brandenberg as it seemed to work really really well and really really fast.

Re: Anothy Lee -- Visiting VCU Soon!

Hopefully this one can go as smooth as Big Robs visit went

Imagine a class of Brandenberg, Lee & Big Mike Bradley wowwwwwwwwwww

Re: Anothy Lee -- Visiting VCU Soon!

Show him that Larry Sanders has a Posse. He could have one too.

Re: Anothy Lee -- Visiting VCU Soon!

Don't forget, Lalane is reported to be visiting sometime in September - which may explain the month gap between Lee's visit (9/5) and Bradley's visit (10/3).

The first name we can mention is Cady LaLane, a 6-foot-8, 215-pound forward from Orlando Oak RIdge who came to campus Saturday for an unofficial visit, according to Matt Ramker, president of the Florida Rams AAU program. LaLane -- the first name is pronounced like "caddy" -- has three visits set up for September, going to Massachusetts, VCU and Georgia, Ramker said. He's also considering George Mason and Mississippi. Rivals rates LaLane as a three-star recruit.

Re: Anothy Lee -- Visiting VCU Soon!

Is this kid's name Anthony or Anothy. Either way lets get it spelled right on the thread title please.

Re: Anothy Lee -- Visiting VCU Soon!

so that just means smart has even more bigs to get 2 of them to sign the dotted line with Harris, Lee, Bradley, Lalanne, Green. Might be forgetting someone else.

Re: Anothy Lee -- Visiting VCU Soon!

I still don't connect the dots on why this reasonably highly rated recruit has lots of interest yet only one listed actual offer and visit date? Is there something else going on?

Alabama Med Interest No None
Auburn Med Interest No None
Florida Atlantic Med Interest No None
Florida State Med Interest No None
Mississippi Med Interest No None
North Carolina State Med Interest No None
Tennessee Med Interest No None
Virginia Commonwealth Med Interest Yes 09/05/2009

Re: Anothy Lee -- Visiting VCU Soon!

Simple, VCU is the place for him and the rest don't matter. We see remarkable talent in him and offered early. He realizes Richmond is a basketball town, that VCU has a great program and that Shaka Smart is the real deal.

He just needs to decide on who he wants to room with, future NBA first rounder Larry Sanders or future CAA Freshman of the Year Rob Branderburg.

Mid-major visitor of the weekend: Florida big man Anthony Lee is making a trip to Virginia Commonwealth. That’s important for a number of reasons. VCU is big in Florida. You could argue that the Rams are the third or fourth best program in the Sunshine State. Anthony Grant started mining his former state and new head coach Shaka Smart made a seamless recruiting transition. Lee, a 6-foot-9 sleeper, is a high-major prospect in this big men thin 2010 class. He could be a difference maker in the CAA.

Also sounds like Tennessee may be in the mix for Michael Bradley?

SEC visitor of the weekend: When your football stadium can pack in over 100,000 people, you almost have to go for broke if you are the basketball coaches. It seems like the Tennessee coaches always have a dozen (or more) visitors in Knoxville on game day. Can you blame ‘em? Class of 2010 sleeper (and in-state prospect) Michael Bradley, Jordan Price (a 2012 stud), Andre Hollins (a 2011 in-state point guard), Nino Johnson (another 2011 in-state guy), Chris Jones (an electric scoring point guard from Memphis) and a host of others will be on the sidelines.

Re: Anothy Lee -- Visiting VCU Soon!

VCU is big in Florida??? And one of the best programs??  Mildly amusing.

Re: Anothy Lee -- Visiting VCU Soon!

Saw him on campus today with the Coaches. Wanted to say something to let him know that we already know about him but I'm no expert on recruiting rules so I just let them go on their merry way.

Sounds like a young Larry Sanders type to me.

Who is Tenessee playing this weekend? I hope thet get their tails kicked.
It's nice to go to a football game now and then but it's about the basketball for these guys. Like somebody else said. Basketball is King at VCU. I like the fact that Tennessee seems to be doing some "group recruiting". I would think an individual approach to a recruiting visit, giving them a chance to shine, get all of their questions answered, and interact more personally with all of our team and coaches will go farther hopefully than being one of a "host of others on the sidelines".
