AP Top 25 - 3 votes

God bless John Feinstein. Is there a more knowledgeable writer about college basketball or any sport for that matter? No one researches his subject more thoroughly. I appreciate his confidence in us. He is always enjoyable to read.

Yeah, I'm not so sure I agree with your policework there Lou...

I think he's good at leisurely and thoughtful exploration of big topics, and the small details within... but his voting patterns in the poll have been somewhat iffy, and perhaps a bit capricious, in the past... last week, or the week before, he was listing VMI in his top 25

Good to see us receive some votes in the AP poll...but if I'm not mistaken, Shaka is one of the lucky coaches with a vote this year in the Coaches poll...yet no vote? Coach, hook yourself up.

If you were coach Smart, would you vote for yourself? Shoot, I would.

Then I will go on the record and just say I always enjoy his books and columns, and just leave it at that.

This makes the USF and Richmond games even more important. Makes me wonder what would have happened if VCU took down Tenn and beat/or narrowly loss to Villanova.

This reminds me of the scene from Pirates of the Caribbean where all the pirate lords vote for themselves for pirate king, and that's why there's never been a pirate king, because there is never any consensus.

Besides, Shaka is much too modest and probably believes that VCU's body of work doesn't rise to the level (YET) of receiving too many coaches votes.
