Coach Jeff Lebo drives by the future home of Auburn basketball each morning on his way to work.

He's eager to move into that new $90 million arena going into the final season in aging Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum.

"It's going to be awesome to get in that new place," said Lebo, a Carlisle High School graduate.........The top signee was 6-5, 210-pound guard Andre Malone. Malone was a first-team Class AAA all-state pick for three years in Georgia. He was rated the nation's 19th-best shooting guard by Rivals.com.

Lebo said the Tigers will need contributions from at least one of the three new big men, 6-10 Rob Chubb, 6-9 Ty Armstrong or 6-8 junior college transfer Kenny Gabriel.

Lebo said guards Malone and Earnest Ross both appear physically ready to play in the SEC.

"All of them have different talents that I like about them," Hargrove said.

They have three new big men coming in this year and we have none, may help us.

that doesnt count the 2 PF's, PG and SG they recruited already for next year. The weird thing is they only have 4 seniors this year, the rest of their scholarship players for this season are freshman or sophomores.

Auburn has 5 seniors this year, not 4. They still have a scholarship to give.

yea i corrected it in the other thread. is there a reason that Auburn considering Lebo is now entering his 5th year is still relying so heavily on JC's to get his players? 4 in 08, 1 09, 2 for 2010. I can understand it the first year or two while you are trying to get started with a program, but if all you are doing is recycling JC's are they really building a program?

You better believe that new $90 million dollar arena is a big part of Jeff Lebo's recruiting pitch to both Allen Payne and Donte Williams (if he's still interested in them). These BCS schools have a lot of football money that they can use to build great facilities like the one outlined here. Hopefully Payne sees that our program overall is more successful and that he can play on the national stage instead of being an SEC afterthought.

$90 million!? That's not just a basketball court, is it?

John Paul Jones Arena Construction cost was $131 million and they still suck! Auburn which haven't done anything basketball wise in years will burn the same path as them Yahoos in CVille.

Allen Payne and Donte Williams pick your future school wisely. Don't let the smoke and mirrors blind you with all that Auburn bling.

I bet a nickel Donte goes to Tennessee after this weekend-We can't compete with an SEC upset-I hope I lose my nickel. of course LaSalle got the # 5 rated center in the country last year, mostly because he wanted to stay close to home.
