VCU vs. Winthrop

Virginia Commonwealth will be on its way to a victory in the first game of the tournament. The Rams, who have one of the best mid-major recruiting classes, will add their young, fresh talent to their more experienced upperclassmen, who have experience as winners, and the Rams will be a tough team to beat this year.

VCU 81, Winthrop 67

8-)

Wake Forest vs. VCU

With only one senior and a bunch of freshmen, it could take a little while for Wake Forest to start playing its best basketball. VCU has enough talent and experience to come up with a win and move to the semifinals.

VCU 76, Wake Forest 71

:D

VCU vs. Missouri State

VCU does not quite have the talent and experience that Missouri State has. VCU should be able to keep this game close, but in the end Missouri State's superiority will give the Bears a win.

Missouri State 68, VCU 62

UCLA vs. VCU

The key player in this game will be UCLA forward Josh Smith. VCU does not have enough size to contain Smith, so as long as Smith can stay out of foul trouble he could have a big game, leading UCLA to a victory.

UCLA 72, VCU 64

Interesting read if anything

The Bleacher Report is good for wiping your ass with after you take a dump. That's about it.

We should beat both Winthrop and Wake. While we are playing on Wake's home court, we SHOULD win this game. Missouri State is a good team, but not as great as the writer is letting on. They were CIT champs last year and had 20 wins and lost 12 games. I'm sure they are a good team, but not good enough to get to the Preseason NIT finals.

If we get to MSG, I don't see it being Missouri State we face off against. That said, with Tennessee just losing to a D-II team, anything is possible.

Provided we play solid in our away games and not let our away record continue from last year...I predict we make it to the championship match.. We should definitely make it to the semifinals at the least, given the talent and experience we have on our team.

I hope the first game is a blowout. Love when we can clear the benches and get everyone in the game. Would be good for WS hometown boy Hinton to get some PT.
