I've always supported the Baseball team since I've been a Ram. This has been a hard year and looks like we might not make the conference tournament.

Ever since ECU and Richmond left plus the "Northern expansion" of the conference and the lack of facilities for practice, the level of play and quality of players we can attract has dropped off. (Not to mention all the upgrades to baseball stadiums around the state VMI, UVA, Tech).

Even though, we have signed some good pitchers in the last few years, I think the loss of McQueen to Richmond has hurt pitching too. I think coach Keyes needs to take a look at staff and find someone who can work on pitcher development.

Any other thoughts?

Not sure I agree that the staff is the problem... Stiffler (sp) is very knowledgeable and Keyes is involved as well

The problem is the embarrassing...make that very embarrassing lack of facilities is finally catching up with the program. heck VA State has a better baseball facility than VCU. It is a big black eye on the VCU sports program

It is frankly a joke and I don’t know how Keyes gets anybody to come when he has to show them where they will practice and play.

I think base running and/or base coaching leaves a lot to be desired. It seems like VCU runners are constantly getting caught in run downs. The Hofstra series was particularly horrible.

Gotta say I agree on facilities...the new ball-park downtown (if/when that happens) will help, but we need a practice facility for the baseball team and a decent tennis center.
