I am currently in the land of VRam, Anna Maria Island to be specific. Mrs ViCtorioUs and the boys are enjoying the Gulf and the weather but I'll bet I'm like a lot of you in that ending the season with a win just whets one's appetite for more Rams' basketball.

This time last year there was anxiety about losing the best player in VCU history, losing our coach and licking our wounds from the disappointment from a one point loss to UCLA in the NCAA tourney. We weren't sure about losing our point guard-to-be, who our new coach would be and how that would play out. There was a possibility of losing other players and some of us weren't sure if JRod could be our starting point guard. We had no incoming recruits and it seemed as if our transfers were going to have to be our salvation. There was enough uncertainty swirling around the Rams' BB program that you could palpate it.

This spring while we may lose Larry the situation is quite different. We will have at least 4 starters returning with a number of quite capable players sitting on the bench. Our coach has honed his skills and will be coveted by BCS schools in the seasons ahead. Our returning point guard will likely be first team all CAA next season. We have an exciting incoming group of new players, potentially as good or better than any previous class.

So many things to look forward to for next season. So what the heck do we do until then? I'm pumped NOW! Ending the season on such a high note has me looking like my Lab with his tongue hanging to the side and the drool spraying everything within range. I want to start next season right away. I need suggestions on how to curb my enthusiasm.

Just got back from Anna Maria Island. In the meantime take the family over to the Starfish on Cortez for lunch. You will love it.

Rake leaves, cut grass, plant flowers, wash car, clean utility room, wash windows, attend VCU baseball games, read a book, listen to TV, etc, etc. Life goes on. I just put basketball on hold and continue with life. :D

Sounds dumb but Butler has me psyched about VCU next season. Just shows that anything is possible.

I guess we now know why the CBI has some value. I definitely feel more positive about the team going into next season than I would've felt otherwise.

Kudos to Norwood and Shaka for having more foresight than I had about playing in the CBI.

We got all Spring and Summer to talk about how great the 2010-2011 team is gonna be... :D

Shaka and coaches may be getting their first break since they were hired...

You're doing it. Spend time with your family.

In the mean time, here you can take part in exciting threads like "How great is (insert recruit here" and "Tournament Relocation."

We'll have to come up with some fun off-season games though.

there is always the coaching changes to watch, recruits to discuss, signing day is next on 4/14...from there who knows....

Plus there is the occasional GFY.

I drove past this joint at about 11:30 Saturday morning and the line was out into the parking lot. Figured something was up.

Nothing like a good GFY to help curb the enthusiasm. Thanks Bang.

I was on the front page of VCUramnation.com looking for an actual countdown clock.

It's a long hard slog any way you slice it. Particularly watching that countdown clock all summer.

I think you got me wrong ViC. Obsession with VCU basketball is healthy in the winter. Not so in the summer. And GFY is a long running joke. Basically meaningless. Yeah. I'm keeping up with 2010 Summer and Fall for sure.

Go RAMS!
Beat VUU!! :D

Believe me Bang I took it in the spirit in which it was intended. Obssessing on VCU basketball is a long time sin on my part, but it doesn't stop me from doing the things I need to do.
