Looks like they have rearranged things a bit with regards to rankings.

http://scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=8&c=1&nid=2476305

Ben has fallen from 17th to 28th ranked PG in the country.

Vilarino has gone up from 30th to 26th ranked PG in the country.

Theus has gone from a 1-star up to a 2-star recruit.

Former VCU target Vee Sanford goes from a one-star to a 3-star and a #30 ranking on virtue of signing with Georgetown.

Funny how these recruiting rankings work sometimes.

Well, keep in mind ESPN also had Etoile Imama rated higher than JRod. Sometimes I think its a good sign if these recruiting sites don't have our guys rated highly.

It's interesting how posters are using ESPN way more nowadays. Why the sudden change? Before Rivals and Scout were the staples for recruiting. Now everyone is bragging about ESPN rankings (us included). 2 years ago people would have laughed in your face if you brought an ESPN ranking for a recruit. I know I did. Now it's the first thing people bring up. I suspect it's because it ranks players a lot higher than Rivals and Scout do, especially mid-major recruits and tends to have some sort of in-depth analysis. It's just funny how quickly everything changes to suit our agendas. Look at Mason's class on ESPN where it's all world, and then scout where they have a bunch of 2 stars sprinkled with a couple of 3 stars. I'm sure we're similar with our recruits. Theus is all-world on ESPN, but nothing on scouts or rivals and we're still elated. :)

I asked the same question on the zone board regarding ESPN. I don't know if anything changed, but last year I tried to research "scout.inc" (who does the recruiting ranks and write up for ESPN) and couldn't find ANYTHING on them. And the info on the ESPN's website on scout.inc indicates they're mainly football guys.

So I take ESPN's recruiting info with a grain of salt, though Scout and Rivals isn't exactly rock solid either.

This. And mostly just the first part.

If so, that just makes us look pathetic, doesn't it? If all the players ranked 80 and above are high-major players, there are literally more high major players than there are spots available in Division I most likely. I imagine it's actually a ploy ESPN uses to get more people to read their rankings. Man they fooled us all! :D ;)

Simple because it sounds better to say our recruit is rated an 87 or whatever then it is to say our recruit is a two star

Any update on Ben? I realize that he has already signed, but have he given any indication since Grant left that he is still committed or is he still feeling things out?
