Now that we have an Off Topic board, we can get down to business....food.

Some of my top spots... (in no particular order)

1. Kuba Kuba - Maybe my favorite spot overall. Great food, great price, great location, great atmosphere.
2. Black Sheep - creative comfort food at a great price...love that they opened up in Carver
3. Edo's Squid, Mama Zu, 8 1/2 - same owner, pretty much the same stuff just in different atmospheres with a slightly different menu at each. amazing italian.
4. The White Dog - coziest joint in the fan, a little pricey, but delicious...don't get to go there as much as I want
5. Ipanema - I go here more during bar time, but they have great food, great people, and the place is cozy as heck.

yup, gimme mama zu any day of the week. i can't think of anything better in richmond.

i'll also add comfort to the list.

as far as brunch, nothing beats millie's.

The Dining Room at the Berkley Hotel. Imaginative, eclectic, delicious. Requires some serious coin.

The Track. Limited menu, but all good. One of my favorites for decades.

Edo's Squid. For the above reasons. I will never recommend Mama Zu's after the waitress asked me if I could afford the bottle of wine I ordered last time I was there.

Millies. The Tiger Shrimp in Black Thai Rice is to die for.

Village. Black and Gold decor. Proximity to the SC. The kids love it. Pav holding court. Sometimes at the bar(well, used to be). Many, many great memories.

Always wanted to go to the Track...and Comfort and Millie's are easily on my list as well (although living in upper fan I can be lazy about getting down to especially Millie's...great food at both places though.

Edo Squid seems to be a popular choice on here, I agree it's quite good. Also, I love Kitchen 64's subs and sandwiches, and Mary Angelou's for cheap Italian food. And I gotta rep Northside Grille (as I work there), excellent specials and $1 tacos on sunday nights 8-)

Steak house - Wagstaff (Colonial Heights)
Seafood - Pleasure Island (Colonial Heights)
Italian - Caeser's (Chester)

Wagstaff is a German steakhouse right? I think my brother went there before prom. Coincidentally I have been craving German food lately (anyone know of any restaurants in Richmond?). Never went to Pleasure Island but my parents used to go there all the time. And is Caeser's in Rivers Bend? For Chester Italian I am all Pietro's...

Richmond Restaurant list - nobody is going to drive the 30 min to Colonial Heights when they can get something a lot better in Richmond. I live in CH, so I can say this.

I'm always looking to try new places... let's keep this going.

1. Black Sheep
2. Edo Squid
3. Kuba Kuba
4. Ipanema ...if i have to take a veggie lover out.
5. Bottom's Up....still I'm one of the original 18th Street homeboys.(fyi 18th street is where it started)

You guys have somehow missed the two hands-down best restaurants in Richmond.

1. Lulu's - Former head chef of Millie's opened this place in the Bottom on 17th St. near the Farmer's Market. Amazing food, great atmosphere, pleasant and unpretentious service, the freshest fish in town and constant imaginative specials. Great brunch too. Incredibly affordable for the quality of dining you receive. (Extra Note: Has PBR on tap.)

2. Comfort - Southern-inspired comfort food done right with always fresh ingredients and a constantly rotating menu. The sides are almost as good as the entrees. Hip and modern design with comfortable booths and fun street-views of Broad St. Has been featured in Southern Living, Food & Wine Magazine and the New York Times, amongst others. (Extra Note: Has PBR on tap.)

actually, two of us already mentioned comfort. ;)

Yeah, I'm completely and totally retarded. I noticed you guys mention Comfort, but then I write what I wrote anyway? I don't know. Not paying attention today, I guess.

1. Joe's Inn (mmm. . . Loaded Spaghetti Dinner)
2. Mom's Siam/Thai Diner (still can't choose)
3. Strawberry Street (yes, it's yuppie, but the food's still great)
4. Ipanema Grill (ugh, it's in the West End)
5. The Village (the Mozzarella and the Meatloaf)
6. Pho 79 (got to give a shout out to something in my neck of the woods)
