Bethune-Cookman: measuring stick or slaughter?

So, I was looking at the CAA schedule for the first few games and we get Bethune-Cookman at home Thurs night. Then Sat afternoon, they go down to Norfolk to play the Monarchs. So, will this be a good measuring stick with which to size up VCU and ODU (at least for the early season, I know Feb is a loooooong time off) or is Bethune going to be slaughtered by ODU with less than 48 hours of rest from our guys? Personally, I'm leaning towards the latter.
 
I don't really believe in doing that. A team looks and plays different on any given night. ODU and VCU have two starkly different styles of play. How ODU matches up to Bethune-Cookman and how VCU matches up to Bethune-Cookman cannot be extrapolated to figure how VCU would match up against ODU.

Plus ODU is usually a slow starter...at least that's been the case the last couple of years, and that is especially true of Gerald Lee. Lee underperformed big-time and Larry was clearly outplaying him through the first half of the season. Lee picked it up though in the second-half. That was reflected in their game against Barton where Lee only had 8 points in over 20 minutes of play while Larry put up 22 in I think 1 or 2 more minutes on the court. I anticipate Lee will start a bit slow and that would probably reflect on ODU as a whole as well. All we can say with certainty is that ODU will be a formidable opponent and that the Siegel Center will be packed and waiting for them.
 
Hopefully ODU loses to Bethune-Cookman

I hope we beat them so bad they get pissed off and destroy ODU

FRIDAY NIGHT!
 
Bethune-Cookman will be on the receiving end of large double digit loses that weekend. Hate to say this, but ODU as well as the other CAA teams need to win their OOC games. It makes the conference stronger, more noticeable and increases our chances for at-large bids. In fact, I hope ODU is undefeated and ranked when they come visiting and we CRUSH, SWAT, STEAL and SHOOT THE LIGHTS out on them! That would be sweet! :D
 
Right, Friday night. I just started thinking Thurs/Sat since Sat afternoon is a common game time.

Yeah i agree, easy to confuse. I had to double check after i read what you wrote.

Can't agree more!!! I really hope the CAA looks great OOC this year, it's the only way to start getting more at-large bids too the dance.
