Big Man to Skip Senior Year...of High School!!!

this is taking the Brandon Jennings lifestyle to a whole new level

If the NBA isn't gonna make kids have a college education, the darn sure better make sure they have high school educations!

...on the other hand I know some HS "students" doing squat there. They may as well get a GED and go to work somewhere.

Agreed. Wiggyltuff went to Pallet Town High School for two years before deciding to drop out and receive her GED. Wigglytuff then headed to Mt. Moon Community College for two years before transferring to Viridian City University. Wigglytuff went on to graduate two and one-half years later at the age of 6 (21 in human years). A high school education is not the only path to become a League Champion. There are many paths that lead to Victory Road.

If I could play Devil's Advocate for a moment...sports like Soccer, Hockey, Basketball (in Europe) and Baseball all have kids that play some semblance of pro-ball before they're 18 or out of school.
I just read an article in SI about a "high school" in Vegas that isn't even really a high schol, where the kids live in a McMansion and are sponsored by Nike....I think it's a bit refreshing that this kid has the guts to break from the norm and try to control his own destiny. As long as he picks a team that is willing to help him develop his game...he'll make some scratch and become draftable. There are plenty of actual student-athletes in the NCAA, and I'm glad they're taking advantage of the glorious oppurtunity to get a free education AND showcase their athletic gifts.....but let's also admit that there is a myth of student athletes at some of the BCS schools where dudes are paid under the table, have contact with agents, don't go to class, have grades doctored, or don't even bother to finish school at all. I guess it's the hypocrisy that bothers me, at least this kid is being honest and banking on himself.

I'm curious where he'll land and how he turns out.

I'm all for a kid going to Euro and getting some scratch, but my personal opinion is, Europe isn't going anywhere. Where not get a diploma then bounce. Or F it, you wanna show the NCAA what's up, come play for VCU and give the middle finger to BCS schools.

some high schools are not teaching kids sh!t anyway so it would be a waste of time...and if he wants to get more education later, he can pay for it.
