The JMU game on Saturday is the biggest game of my life. I could care less about the Super Bowl. And, i'm a Steeler fan. Pro sports suck now in my opinion. I am a solid Col. Basketball and Football fan. VCU is my favorite team period. Okay, I could not sleep last night. I am already over the NE game. I kinda knew we'd lose that one.

The game that will tell us everything and has me losing sleep is the JMU game. It will be a packed house, and on TV. This game will be tough. JMU is overrated this year, but always plays us tough. My gut tells me that NE (in Boston) just has our number and we will bounce back against JMU. If we do win, we are still in first. I really feel that GMU will win against ODU and that still has us in a tie with them, yet both us and GMU will have a two game lead on ODU. If ODU wins we are right back to where we were before NE as far as standings and somewhat acceptable RPI. I'm hoping we beat JMU and ODU wins.

I didn't think we had a strong at-large resume before NE, and still don't now obviously. However, we could get an at-large if we will 6 of our next 7, inc. WSU, and two CAA Tourny games. Let's be honest, thats probably not gonna happen. Let's take it one game at a time. And, lets win the CAA Reg. season! Atleast we'll get an NIT auto, or if we finish 2nd in CAA, I think we still might get NIT.

Coach Smart last night had his team's lack of 'D' exposed last night, but more importantly a 'sad' leadership by the seniors was exposed again. I'm afraid all the national hype on us this past week got in the heads of this team. They can definitely make up for this, get our RPI back up, and avoid failing during 'match up' zones by beating JMU. We lose to JMU, we are still in 2nd, but we will be in serious trouble. Delaware, well screw Delaware, that game is a 100 days off if you ask me. Please beat JMU VCU okay? I'm telling you, this is the biggest game of the year so far. It will tell us everything...

Who's your college football team?

VCU! I don't care if we have "yet" to form a team. I'm going to City Stadium every Saturday next fall and pretend... wait... that makes me no better than those Quidditch playing losers. darn IT!!!

Just another Bandwagon occupant.

I grew up loving the steelers. I still follow them, but its like theyre always inThe Bowl. Its kinda boring now. Also, 80% of Steelers fans are obnoxious fair weather/band wagon/red neck fans. VCU has my heart.

My favorite college teams are Tech, UVA, UR, VMI in that order. And, yes i'd like to see VCU buy City Stadium, renavate it to hold 20,000 (for now) and work its way up to the CAA in three maybe 4 years like ODU. Then hopfully by 2025/2030, maybe expand stadium and play 1A level. I know I should wake up from my dream now.

Also folks, please stay on topic. The JMU game is the biggest game of my life, your life and theirs...

I would disagree with the biggest game of anyone's life. It will show us the resolve and state of our current basketball team, and possibly, in what direction we are headed for into the home stretch. I would also disagree with your comment that JMU is overrated. I don't think they are at all. They have some guys in there that can flat play. It should be a great game on Saturday!

I'm going to light myself on fire if we lose!

JMU is way better than previous years, bowles is a beast and their coach is really good. I mean overrated from where they were earlier this year. They are struggling, maybe a little to much hype. With that said they will show up Saturday. Will we? JMU also has ashot at 4th place in CAA. As we know that is huge.

JW31 - Re the at-large bid hopes

Part of what determines a team's at-large chances is what the team's opposition did.

Here are our OOC losses:

richmond 17-6 understandable loss
@UAB 15-6 understandable loss
neutral Tenn 14-7 alright
@USF 8-15 unforgiveable

Here are our OOC wins:

neutral UCLA 15-7 our best win
UNCG 4-17 not impressive
Winthrop 9-12 not impressive - weren't they supposed to win 20
Wake 8-14 other than the name not impressive
VMI 12-9 most of their wins against "little sisters" not impressive
Tulane 12-9 same as VMI
Wofford 12-10 aside from GMU haven't beat anyone not impressive
UNH 9-13 not impressive

We were never getting an at-large. We lost to teams with meaningful winning records (except for UCLA) and beat up on scrubs. Potentially sweeping ODU and GMU added to UCLA is not enough. Our Big Dance hopes have always been contingent on winning the CAA tournament. 1st place regular season and loss in CAA finals means NIT for VCU.
