Bones Hyland - NBA Thread

I had a feeling this was coming. Hopefully someone will come along who actually plans to use him.

Sadly, it looks like Clippers fans are celebrating this for the most part. They're morons.
Someone will pick him up no question. Other players around the league (and former players) respect his game and know he belongs. Obviously they're not the ones offering contracts, but front offices who aren't away will get word of it and every team needs scoring off the bench

Bones was on the market in 2023 and was essentially given away by Denver. The Clippers put Bones on the market last year and drew no suitors. Any team that is interested could get him for a 2030 2nd rounder. Hopefully there is a team that sees value in his skillset and he gets a chance.

recent article -

from articles I have been reading it doesn't look like Bones will be in the 9 man rotation to start the season barring injury - will be hard to build interest from other teams without meaningful run - Bones' allergy to playing Defense seems to be why Clippers are not including them in their plans for the future ( they brought in Kris Dunn to run point with second team because he apparently plays defense and doesn't need to score/shoot)

Bones needs a situation with a team that needs an uptempo guard on a team that puts more emphasis on scoring than stopping their opponents
and Bones pereceived strength of shooting from deep has barely placed him in top 100 in 3 pt FG% in last two years (perhaps some of that slippage is lack of consistent playing time or a need to be a little more selective in pulling the trigger )

Like it or not, RamNation....Bones has earned a "reputation".....he has had issues BOTH in Denver and LA and there is a TON of talent out there that does not come with the baggage/drama.

If I'm Bone's agent? I tell him THIS season is your chance to rehabilitate your image. So train hard, be on time, don't F around off the court.

What a horrible title, “Clippers’ Reject”😡😡😡

San Antonio Spurs Could Target LA Clippers' Reject in Free Agency

As a Spurs fan, would I be happy with this? Yes

Do I think he's a fit for Spurs culture? Nope

Do I think Pop would be great for his development despite the potential lack of cultural fit? Also Yes

Do I like the article title? Also Nope

What issues has he had in LA? Genuinely curious.

Eh, Pop's on record as a big Captain Jack fan. Granted, that first go around was 20 years ago, but I think Bones would be fine.
Great nickname! Big prospect. Bones is less of a prospect and now more of a known. His biggest value in a trade is he has an expiring contract. Can be used to balance a deal - then waived. 50/50 he goes overseas.

He has been a locker room cancer from all reports. A terrible teammate. It's a shame, I was REALLY pulling for him to succeed in the NBA wherever he went if he came in humble and hungry. Unfortunately, it would appear he did not do that. It seems the fame and money has gone to his head and on BOTH teams, he was the common denominator as far as a bad attitude and locker room cancer guy. He is squandering his NBA career, joke's on me though, he's the multi-millionaire, and here I sit typing this message during my 9-5 LOL.
