I often wondered about his freshman year at VCU and the chemistry issues that team seemed to have had.He has been a locker room cancer from all reports. A terrible teammate. It's a shame, I was REALLY pulling for him to succeed in the NBA wherever he went if he came in humble and hungry. Unfortunately, it would appear he did not do that. It seems the fame and money has gone to his head and on BOTH teams, he was the common denominator as far as a bad attitude and locker room cancer guy. He is squandering his NBA career, joke's on me though, he's the multi-millionaire, and here I sit typing this message during my 9-5 LOL.
The coach got the player he wanted but the Clippers did not fare so well with their "Has been" lineup. What a horrible title, “Clippers’ Reject”
San Antonio Spurs Could Target LA Clippers' Reject in Free Agency
This is one of the most seat of the pants evaluations that I have ever read. The problem with Bones is that he isn't a playoff caliber NBA player and doesn't 'project' to be one. He doesn't play defense and has a low motor when he doesn't have the ball in his hands. His attitude or team chemistry issues are secondary to being a terrible on ball defender, unwilling help defender and often "drifts" out of plays in order to not play defense.
Love Bones, but he hasn't improved the one skill that could take him to the next level.
He has the tools, hopefully he can find a situation where he can display them. This is one of the most seat of the pants evaluations that I have ever read.
What metrics are you basing this assessment?
Bones is a former 1st round shooting guard that can shoot the deep three, he can handle the rock, and he can pass the ball. I have no idea about his attitude or if he is a “cancer” as some on this board so easily post. I dont know the young fella personally, I have never been in a locker room with him, and he seems like a nice kid based on his interviews and interaction with the media I have witnessed.
I guess haters will hate but can it least be based on some appropriate metrics or facts?
Edit: Please see this article that states why Bones has value and a team like the Spurs could pounce. 6’9. Wing Span helps on D, Shooting ability, ability to play both guard spots, former All rookie, averaged 12 plus points as a key player off the bench..
Iirc they had interest but Denver decided to flip him to LA instead, which looks like spite to me whether it was or not.The GM who drafted him is currently in Minnesota. I've thought about a possible trade to the Wolves, who need a shooter.
