Bones Hyland - NBA Thread

I have disregarded all the rumblings and hearsay because I will never know (and have no need to know) the whole story. What I do know is that Bones left the bench during a live game, apparently without being cleared to do so. The optics of that were...suboptimal.
And there was that time in LA that he an PJ Tucker were literally sent home from a road trip....

I hope the kid can stick in stateside basketball, looks like he'll get a chance with the TWolves

Playing professional sports isn't a Right, it's a Privilege...and for regular folks who work their tails off for the crumbs of what a Pro earns?? Only to watch them treat the aforementioned privilege so cavalierly...yea, you're gonna see some pushback and bad feelings.

As one of (likely very few) Wolves-Rams fans, this one is a little bit of a head scratcher because he has a pretty similar playing style to our rookie PG Rob Dillingham. Finch has also been keeping pretty tight rotations all season, only recently adding some of the younger guys into the normal lineup.

Happy to have a Ram on the roster, but I expect he will be getting more time in Iowa than Minnesota.

Yeah, this is why I suspect the Wolves went after Bones for insurance in the event Dillingham doesn't work out. Dillingham is getting paid A LOT more than the rookie minimum and has been pretty inconsistent this season.

They may be sending him down to get him lots of minutes over the month of March and bring him back, prepped and ready for the playoffs.

He's an NBA player that has struggled to recognize it's a corporate workplace, he's great....but he has to be willing and obvious that he's a team player. He seems to have struggled with the second part.
None of us knows exactly what the issue is with Bones. In my experience everyone has their own opinion and management isnt always on the right side of things.

Therefore, before we go giving the kid advice, or blaming him, why not wait and let things settle out? After things settle out, maybe then we will get a better picture of the issues (if any) with Bones.

Right now we as Rams should simply have his back until we know for sure. heck just this week thousands of people got pink slips due to poor performance. Yet most if not all claim their performance was never in question. Though management states it performance. Who do you believe?

By the way the guy running the wolves knows Bones from his time with the Nuggets. Would he bring back a problem child that is your 8th man at best?

I hope Bones gives em heck. We all know he isnt a G League player.
I think most in the association agree with you….to me, this feels a bit performative. See if Bones can handle the humble pie that comes with the G-league and if he does, he’ll be in an NBA rotation soon enough.

It’s a shame, he’s had a few bouts with professionalism (we’ve all had them), but by and large is a good person who has game and who’s biggest fault is the first coach he crossed is Mike Malone— who is known to be spiteful, not George Karl spiteful, but he still has time to get there.

I am still in the tank for Bones!

I have heard Malone is a a hole. As such, I am not buying the narrative the bones “crossed” him. Maybe he crossed Bones as stated we dont know.
