Bones Hyland - NBA Thread

Talent is not the question…..Attitude is the thing that he has to convince teams is not a problem. He is fighting a perception battle.
The only people he has to convince about attitude are the fans buying into the narrative that even his fellow players have said to the press is made up BS. But please keep on buying what the top dog fans are painting and selling. I'm supporting the guy through and through. Even IF any of the crap some people read and are suckers enough to wrap around them to make them feel safe and comfy thinking they have everything all figured out, instead of dealing with fear of the unknown, he has what it takes to help teams win.

I think you misunderstand me. I support the guy 100%. I am not an NBA GM but i do have family working in the NBA ;) All I can tell you is talent is not the reason he is playing in the G-League. Now if you think that is me being negative toward Bones, I dont know what to tell you. I dont speak or project negativity to any player from the time I first picked up a basketball and I have been around or involved it the vast majority of my life.

I must've gotten the wording wrong, my bad. I just cannot entertain the attitude thing about anyone until I've experienced it for myself. I watched the nuggets fans get enveloped in his story, and then the top dogs begin to paint a picture dispelled by his teammates and the in-love-with-him fans start eating it, and it's what the association does. He's not the first to get eaten alive by it, this is what sports fanatics do. It's what hollywood fanatics do. They chew you up and spit you out. The only thing I'll entertain and then choose to believe is what I can see.

spot on! Bones is in the G league because no one wants him on their roster at this time - everyone had the opportunity to claim him but T wolves were only one that stepped up with a TWO-Way contract (not even a regular roster spot deal)

like you and most others I would love to see Bones prosper in the NBA. He has had 4 years to develop and get meaningful minutes and he has been buried on the end of bench for most of the past two - three years

walking off the court during any game for a player (especially bench player) will create lots of questions in any GM's mind when evaluating Bones for a roster spot - I still think that follows him though years removed

with roster construction with most teams being a combo of max players and lots of low paid players, Bones is on the path of being the later for his next few years, provided he can garner a roster spot

go Bones
