Impressive line for Bones last night in loss to PHX. Were these meaningful mins or had the wolves thrown in the towel?

The game went down to the final possession, so all the minutes were meaningful. He was the spark that actually let them have a chance in the game, other than their obvious superstar Anthony Edwards' 40 points.

Just don't understand why he doesn't se more playing time.

Apparently Anthony Edwards has been a big advocate for Bones and played a part in him getting signed this year. They interviewed Edwards after the game and he praised Bones quite a bit. Maybe the minutes will start to increase.
That could count quite a bit. They're in an uncomfortable spot with Conley, but if Ant likes Bones, well...

Conley is in the last of a two year contract worth 20 million - afterwhich he is UFA

Dillingham contract control for Wolves through 2028 but guaranteed through 2027 - though in 2nd year of rookie contract that goes through 2029 where player option exists (maybe getting $7 million a year now)

DiVincenzo (sp) contract expires 2026 (getting 12 million in final year of 4 year contract)

Terrence Shannon rookie contract runs through 28-29 and Wolves have guaranteed his contract through 26-27 (maybe $3 million per year)

those are the guards ahead of bones or the ones who Bones is in competition with (one year contract at $2.5 million)

Edwards is in a class by himself at the shooting guard/small forward slot (and is franchise player)

I think Wolves would love to find a way out of Gobert contract (expires 2027 at roughly 33 million per year).

Randle and Naz Reid are good contracts per their performance on the court

would not be surprised if Wolves target Point guard before trade deadline and find a trade partner that can eat Gobert contract or maybe move someone like Gobert for 1st rounder

Edwards comments on Bones

I think they'd love to get his salary off the books but their defense is toast without Rudy on the team. Trading him to shed salary also risks irritating Edwards, which isn't ideal under any circumstances but especially not if you're a small market franchise.

The reality for Bones is that he's on a veteran's minimum contract, so he's low man on the totem pole. This is tough when he's pretty clearly more productive than Conley, who isn't part of their long term plans (Bones may not be, either, but aside from that it's the same circumstance with Shannon and Dillingham - better to get more production than less but they don't have Conley's bona fides).

14 points in16 minutes. After providing the spark he was taken out til the last 90 seconds but never got another shot. Outside of Edwards he is the best shooter.

no doubt they step backwards on D without Gobert but .......

I see Bones getting another shot at Dillingham's minutes after reading the vote of confidence from ANT

the drop off with Dillingham on offense vs Bones is like falling off the cliff at Point du Hoc. (for you young-ins think D Day)

Did not watch last nights game just looked at Box Score. Anyone know why Bones started and only got 5 minutes of burn for the whole game? He had two assists, 1 foul and was 1-1 from deep. Just curious if something happened ( ie. Injury or a bone-headed play - pun intended).

Thanks!

Hurt his knee, he is D2D now.

It was a knee to knee collision, it looked to me like he could return when they were at first working on him on the bench after it happened, but when he left to the locker room and came back in was in street clothes in the second row and commentators has said he was out for the night.
As to be expected during this very testy game at Warriors, and man what a game it was, he was standing up a lot and cheering.

Outside of Edwards, the best shooter? Come on, man. I'm rooting for Bones too, but you can't conjure this stuff out of thin air.

2nd straight consecutive start, Bones looks great out there against the Kings tonight.
Just into the 3rd, TWolves lead by 3.

My gawd! Right after I wrote this, the 2 straight possessions, offense was RIDICULOUS. Oh muh dayum!!!
This is one of them:
