They don't have it updated online, but apparently Linardi now has us in the "next four out" range (according to the ESPN crew doing the ODU game).

I still think we'd have to dominate our next two games then lose in a tight one in the title game to have a chance, but I thought that was nice to hear after rough patch we hit prior to this last game against WSU.

Correct Natty, First one listed in Next Four Out. Wichita State listed 2nd on that list.

We have a chance to pick up several top 100 wins in the coming weeks. Ranked teams need to keep winning and bubbles need to keep losing.

Even though we won't be the #1 seed I think the seeding for the CAA tourney could still work out favorably for us if we take care of Drexel and JMU (easier said than done I know). I think our best chance is still to win the whole thing, but we'll see what happens. The bubble isn't very strong this year.

CBS doesn't even have us in the discussion. :?

Generally when I'm in doubt, I go with CBS. They are the ones hosting/broadcasting the tournament, after all. If anyone has a leg up on what's going on, it would be them.

Our numbers according to CBS:

Here's hoping they bring back Selection Sunday Challenge on NCAA.com. That was a cool way to compare all the teams and do your own bit of Bracketology.

i honestly dont think were getting in unless we win the caa tourney.

If we do win out and lose in the finals our record record vs top 100 would likely be 10-6. While that is very good, weve got 3 bad losses to teams lower than 150. If we win out and make it to the finals our record would be 25-9 though. Its all really close and hopefully we keep ourselves in the picture with a win vs Drexel.

A "L" on Wednesday would take us out the picture for sure so Wednesday is a big game in terms of that perspective.

Any loss before the CAA finals would take us out of the picture.

Let's take care of business and win these next two, and have some momentum heading into the tourney. The only thing we can control is winning our own games.

from what i have seen the past few years it doesn't matter what happens, unless we win the CAA, we are out. Based on last year's rpi and record we are hovering where we were last year and we didn't even make the NIT. This is what sucks about being a mid major and losing some games we should have won.

We have to win the CAA tournament to go to the NCAA's. Period.

We have less than a 5% chance if that at an at-large and that's only if a whole slew of bubble teams tanks from here on out. Our guys are going to have to play some great basketball down the stretch...and let's be serious, Mason is far and away the conference's best team at this point. If we make the tournament it will be an upset.

I believe we can do it though! These kids are hungry and talented. They have the ability to win big ganes and having our home support in the Coliseum is always a factor. I would love to see the CAA get 3 bids as I think Mason and ODU are locks for at-large bids at this point.

DB, welcome back! I can imagine why you decided to stay away from the recent fray.

ODU and Mason are far from safe. Mason especially.

Aside from their win at our place and their win at Northern Iowa, they haven't done anything of note on the road. They lack those signature wins that really "make" a resume, and they have two bad losses (NC State, Wofford). ODU has a win over Xavier on a neutral court, which might be enough to put them in barring some monumental collapse.

Our win over UCLA looks better and better every week. We have to run the table and get to the CAA finals to really have a good chance, but I think we are in a decent spot.

That's considering all of my bracket history reporting. In 2003-04, Utah State was ranked 23rd in the AP poll on Selection Sunday and got snubbed from the dance. In 05-06, Hofstra had a RPI of 22 and Missouri State 24, and both were left out. There's no such thing as a "lock" for a mid-major.
