...at least until more money is offered from somewhere else.grateful to have guys with passion for the program on the staff
nothing wrong with that. like it or not money makes the world go round...at least until more money is offered from somewhere else.
Correct. Money makes the world go round for these guys -not passion. Trust and believe, the Marteli's were not passionate about VCU till we brought a bigger bag. I thought your earlier post was focusing that passion was the reason they were here.nothing wrong with that. like it or not money makes the world go round![]()
True that perhaps if VCU had offered PMjr the same money he was making at Bryant, that he may have decided to stick where he was. However, while it doesn't perhaps rise to the level of "passion," Martelli Sr. has been very complementary of the VCU program for many years.Trust and believe, the Marteli's were not passionate about VCU till we brought a bigger bag. I mean, Phil Sr. always brings up the fact we honored his dad (who had recently passed) at what ended up being his last visit to the Siegel Center as a coach. That gesture stuck with him and was when simple respect turned to fondness.True that perhaps if VCU had offered PMjr the same money he was making at Bryant, that he may have decided to stick where he was. If we are being honest, Phil Sr had/has love for VCU primarily because we gave his son Jimmy an underserved second chance in college basketball coaching after he was forced to resign from Rutgers (April 2013) for physically and verbally abusing players along with former head coach Mike Rice. Also the Rutgers AD was fired as well for trying to protect these two.I mean, Phil Sr. always brings up the fact we honored his dad (who had recently passed) at what ended up being his last visit to the Siegel Center as a coach. ofc money factors in. as it should, but pm sr has been praising vcu for years and jimmy worked here. plus i’m sure pmj grew up dreaming of coaching in the a10, and since the martelli joes connection went sour to some degree, i’m sure vcu was high on his listCorrect. We are the flagship, after all.i’m sure vcu was high on his list
Frank is awesome. We go there too. He hosted the entire team three or four years ago.Just had lunch with my paisani at Chianti's. Frank, the owner loves the Rams and hosted the Martelli family. They loved the restaurant and the food. Frank was hoping that Bones would go with the Knicks. Never did happen. Great food should try it. Tell Frank you are a Ram fan.
