I don't know if he will be able to devote as much time to it as before but he certainly seemed to have a knack for it. Maybe Papa Bear can make a few calls for us as well.
I think it means that we have an A10 legend on our side and we don't have to pay him. Honestly even if he is just a fan it is nice to have him on our side. I've always liked him even though sometimes I had to put my game face on and pretend I didn't.
That's true, but indications are that Bob McKillop hasn't exactly played much of a role at Davidson since he retired.
I don't totally disagree with your statement but in my opinion, while they both may be let's just fruits, they are not the same. BM is a DAvidson Legend and a recognized name in western Carolina and the extended region. MM played for his dad, spent 1 year as assistant away and then was handed the reigns' to a successful program his father built after sitting on the bench with him for 14 years. PM SR is not only a Philly legend but a basketball legend. PM JR like MM played for his dad but PM JR got his 20 years of assistant experience from coaches other than his dad and Has HC experience.
Even on game day I had to admit I liked the guy. Good coach, knows the game and always seemed to genuinely care about the players. Also has always been complimentary to VCU.
it's a very different situation. Matt was the coach in waiting when Daddy McKillop retired. Martelli Sr. is like having Dave Odom rooting for us the past two years. It sounds like he may be a little more involved, but ultimately he's just one of our biggest fans.

IMHO, PM JR is better positioned for success and PM SR has better visibility in the basketball community. Now none of this means I expect PM SR to perform magic but if he were a magician, he would be better known and experienced than BM

Yup, he was also the Mayor of Luleå, Sweden, and has lots of contacts in Europe.
When he went to Penn State in the role of recruiting coordinator they announced they wanted to begin to recruit world wide. His 10-years over seas had much to do with that decision.
