Brandon Rozzell and Jimmy Martelli return to VCU; Ryan Daly, Chris Cole, and Brett Nelson round out coaching staff

For me, this is like my ex moved on and I'm still banging her but not having to pay alimony and still get to keep my new girl. Bring it up all you like... 😉
Happened with my second wife……busy time for me for sure

Not a fan of Jimmy being our associate HC. Was hoping for a more veteran presence. He’s been under Mike Rhodes a while and not sure how much that experience helps us much at all.

Nepotism is alive and well.
I am not a big fan of nepotism either, but I don't think that lack of experience is a legit criticism. Dude's been in the game for almost 20 years.

2005-06 – Dickinson College, Assistant Coach
2006-07 – Randolph-Macon, Assistant Coach
2007-10 – Robert Morris, Assistant Coach
2010-13 – Rutgers, Assistant Coach
2017-23 - VCU, Director of Operations
2023-25 – Penn State, Assistant Coach

I am more interested in what the new staff is doing in assembling a roster. While others schools are getting commits from the transfer pool, we have one announced commit - Evan’s- and another rumored commit - I have seen no official announcement on the big guy from Bryant. Seriously hoping for good news very soon.

Here's something for the offseason..
At The Flood Zone I saw a lead singer stage dive into a crowd of about 12 people, all in front of the stage quickly stepped back while he was in midair, dude fell on the back of his neck from what had to have been a height of 12 or so feet. Knocked him out. I ~think~ the band's name was Frog legs. I thought he was dead. Eric Stanley came out and screamed at people to get back and he was taken away via ambulance. The show went on with the next act.. who did NOT stage dive.

REALLY great band, singer was like a hyperactive Elvis or something:

barely nepo imo. jimmy has a lot of experience and is nearly guaranteed to be on the same page as phil.

Not all older brothers are quick to take their younger brother’s side. If it were my family, my older brother would have no problem settling conflicts and would be harder on me than the rest of the staff; he’d probably take their side more often than not.

I don’t see this being an issue at all. The Martelli’s definitely don’t seem to be the type of family to give handouts or special treatment to each other.
This! I am more concerned that he might over compensate to make sure he's being fair and slight his brother a bit. I'm not really concerned about that either. I think PMJ will make the decision that helps the team win.
