...so 5th place was not good enough?

I think this is another instance of Norwood firing another person he did not hire. Julians record is amazing. He produced more all americans and conference championships than any other vcu program except tennis. He also produced a few olympians. The womens coach is not even close to as accomplished, but was hand picked by Norwood so he has job security.

I am calling out to all on this board. Is anyone concerned that ,orwood has fired nearly everyone that works in the athletic dept? We have lost sanders, sissiky, many coaches and staff. We may lose the few remaining as the almighty norwood gets ready to review contracts this june, especially with this budget crisis.

Granted it is his department, but how vcu perform if rao fires 85 percent of the people working under him?

Larry Sanders was fired? Scandals!

pretty sure Norwood did not fire Dick Sanders. The rest is as they say history. I have latently followed Track and we've done okay...dont know the skinny on the deal so I will withhold judgement.

i have been wrong countless times bfore on this board but I was told that Sanders (Dick) was terminated and Norwoods friend Nathan Thomassini (spelling ?) who was recently hired as an assistant took over.

Sanders did step aside as AD, but was the director of the Sports Leadership program which fell under Norwoods oversight.

Lots and Lots of familar faces have left. julian produced 9 all americans, 2 olympians and several conference championships

homassini(?) who was recently hired as an assistant was promoted.

this of course after Sanders stepped down as AD and took over the sports leadership program which Norwood oversees.
