If Larry is going to continue to play this soft selfish crap, and make these stupid decisions, then I say good riddance sir! I feel like he is hurting this team right now. If he thinks this crap is gonna fly or keep him in the NBA then go for it, heck go now! He'll spend either a year or two riding pine and then dissapear to europe or he'll dissapear even quicker in the NBADL. If he wants to take it seriously and grow and become a succesful basketball star, then he needs to get his on straight and start playing ball!

I am sure a lot of this is me venting frustrations, but I don't think his head is in the right place right now. I dont really want him to leave, but I want to see the effort and I am not seeing right now. I feel like I am seeing someone that is coasting out there time.

I know blame-casting is all the rage after a loss, and lord knows I do think Larry was a bonehead and he contributed to losing the lead, but he was also a big part of why we had the lead in the first place... without him we lose wire-to-wire... Larry giveth, and Larry taketh away

I understand the frustration and was thinking the same thing. I just didn't want to go so far and say it.

Exactly. Without Larry, we never would have had the lead. Boneheaded? Maybe. Selfish? I didn't see that tonight. If anything, he's been giving up the ball a little too much lately.

I respectfully disagree.

Look, Larry was POed after watching Hancock throw Ed Nixon to the floor (which got no call)...the ran after Hancock (who had the ball) and got what I think was a pretty weak tech.

I'm can't hate on the guy for playing with passion. I also can't hate on him for being one of the best big men this program has ever had.

I have to correct you. He is the best, not one of the best.

like i said, most of this is just venting. he is probably the best post player this program has ever seen. I guess it is the lack of proegress I am seeing. And the same bad decisions. As great as he is, there is so much more potential that I am seeing not being reached.

Yeah Larry is the reason we lost.

Funny, isn't it Bang? We were ahead when he fouled out. You would have thought we would have romped to victory once he left.

there are times when I think you can see that Larry hasn't been playing organized basketball since peewee... I think sometimes some stuff gets into his head and affects him more than perhaps someone that's been drilling and balling for over a decade

but he hasn't been a gym rat all his life, so it would be unrealistic to expect him to always do the perfectly right thing at the right time, and it would also be unrealistic to expect him not to do the precisely wrong thing on occasion ...if he hadn't been such a late bloomer, we probably would have never had a chance at him coming to VCU... and on balance, he has, and may yet still, win a lot more for us than he loses

...that said, I want Coach to give Hinton a spray bottle and tell him to spritz Larry whenever he starts camping out on the perimeter ;)

Realistically, how many players have we had over the years who were perfect? I saw EM go for a two point bucket down in St. Thomas when there were only 2 seconds left in the game and we were down three. Everyone in the gym was looking at each other like, WTF?  He was the only guy in the gym who didn't know the score and apparently the coaches didn't tell him. I think he did it in another game too.

RB, sorry bro, but dude has only been playing organized ball for what, 5 years now? Give the kid a break, he's still VERY early in his development. I truly hope he sees this and believes it well enough to stay in school for his last year, but if he goes, it is probably due in large part to not caring to be the butt end of such horse $h!t from game officials!!!

lol... exactly, these games aren't played on paper or in electrons... these games are played in real-time by actual human beings, and sometimes a player is going to be more human than other times... even ice water/clutch/dagger man himself
