The next 3 teams we play are a combined 14-3 with wins over Wake Forest, Missouri, and Miss St (and Richmond...although one of those teams IS Richmond). Tulane has been inconsistent, but their two wins are against a BCS school and a team projected near the top of our conference.

Rhode Island 4-0 (Davidson) 17+ point diff
@W&M 4-2 (Wake Forest, Richmond)
Richmond 6-1 (Miss St, Missouri)
@Tulane 2-3 (Penn State, George Mason)

That's a tough little stretch of games right there...

W & M is surprising. They played UCONN close and beat UR and Wake. I hope our style of basketball puts them in a bind as our team is more athletic than theirs. They have great shooters and we need to play true to our style of being a great 3-point guarding team. I trust we will have a lot of fans traveling to Williamsburg for this one.

I have no idea which Tulane team will show up. But it will be a tough road test and as we have seen our road experiences are interesting. Maybe a win at W & M will give us confidence on the road for the season.

But first things first, RI. They seem to play well at home. Now lets see how they do at The Stu. Oh BTW I really don't want to talk about the UR game. Lets just f-n kill them and get it over with already.

We'll beat URI at home. Not so sure about UR. They are well coached, have their best teams in years and are due to hand us one.

December can be a long month for the Team. We certainly aren't loaded with a bunch of "easy wins." If we do well, it could predict what we will do in the CAA. U of R will be much toucher that any previous year.

That Davidson win for URI, even by that much, is pretty unimpressive. Davidson is pretty much awful this year, they should have paid Curry to stick around!

UR is brimming with confidence. They may even have a few red sweaters at the Stu. It would be a good win for us.

...and just what a team trying to prove themselves needs.

Two at home and two on the road.

URI really has not played anyone. They beat us last year in a game that we should have won.

W&M is going to be a clash of styles. Should be interesting. We need to pack the house

Then there is ur. I've seen several of their games and how tough this game is for us depends on what team of theirs shows up. I'm just glad they have to show up at our house. They seem to struggle against pressure, so we need to put it on them, both on the floor and in the stands. I'm hoping they win in football next week and have another home football games the day they play us, and there is a cold rain in the second half.

I really don't think that Tulane is that great, but they have been beat by a couple really good teams. That scouting assignment is a week or so off.

Looking at the conference games, I posted the other day that I was not sure if ODU was a pretender or contender. After watching and listening to their game the past couple days, I think I'm getting a clearer picture.

Interesting that Richmond beat the same Missouri and Miss St teams that beat ODU. U of R will be tough even at the Stu, but with the team that showed up against OK and NV on the floor, we are in good shape for the W.

They will all be tough, but as long as Larry stays in the games, I like our chances in all of them. Teams just aren't able to run their offenses "business as usual" against Larry and the Rams. They're the ones who have to adjust.

I watched the ODU/Missouri game. Missouri's shooting was some of the worst I've ever seen. From looking at the box score, it wasn't any better against UR. It's a team that can run up and down the floor, but putting it in the basket was a problem. Didn't see Mississippi State, but they've already lost to Rider (by 14) and UR. Their wins are against SE Louisiana, Bethune Cookman (only by 16), Texas Pan American and ODU. So they seem to be a little suspect as well.

.

Yeah, I noticed in the Miss. State box score that they were only 2 deep at the guard position. Great for our press.

Here's hoping Larry plays full minutes, too. But I've noticed segments when he was out that we didn't exactly suck, either. We at least held our position at times.

Man, what a great schedule!

I believe all four of the games are winnable and think that the William and Mary Game will be the toughest. But we normally travel well to W & M. I agree that if we were playing at Richmond I would be more concerned but I think our guys will handle business at home and if we win the first road game at W & M I see us sweeping the next 4 games.

If this was at UR then I think they win, but it's very tough to win at the Stu no matter who you are.

Last year VCU took over the Robins Centers. The only partially active fans are the Richmond Rowdies, which are a collection of like 15 fans. I thought I saw Maynor laugh last year when he saw that. The VCU team knew they had a large amount of fans there. It reminds me very much of Kaplan arena except at Kaplan VCU fans all sit together and make it heck for W&M. At Robins they try to split VCU fans up a little which doesn't really work.

Though I do like that the UR game is at the STU this year. I'm really looking forward to the URI game just to see Rams vs Rams. Also URI put up a lot of points on VCU last year when they won. VCU seemed to be in control until some calls at the end killed them.(A 3 second call or something on Larry at the end I think did them in.)
