Bulldroppings Blog: VCU an NCAA Bracketbuster This Year

Out of all the teams he talked about....he gave VCU and a couple other schools the most praise. Everyone else....not so much

Remember when Larry started off slow last year, but late in the year he was avg about 12 ppg and 8-10 rpg? Sure he was inconsistent still, but his production improved greatly leading up to his 18 pt, 20 reb, and 7 block game against GMU in the CAA tourney. I expect the same thing from him this year - - he should be a pretty solid 16 ppg, 10 rpg, 2.5 bpg guy by the end of the season and he will get better and better as the season progresses. This year, he started pretty slow the first few games, but has picked it up lately, especially rebounding the ball.

Larry is also the only legitimate post player we have now and he's the focus of the opposing team's D. I know we have KP, but he doesn't scare anyone offensively and he rarely plays with Larry. During the W&M game Larry was double and triple teamed inside at times. Once Saintil and Skeen (especially) are ready other teams will not be able to just focus on Larry down low. Either Larry or Jamie (maybe both) is going to blow up inside once the two are playing together. I don't think many casual VCU fans or followers of CAA basketball realize that we are missing half of our inside game at this point and are still winning games.
