Since we're two games out before the season's over- litos has a nice post up regarding CAA Awards. here's his list of guys that should be considered:

All Freshman (12 guys for five spots)

Coach of the Year (three for one)

If there’s a vote for anybody other than Buzz Peterson, Jim Larranaga, or Mo Cassara that person should have voting privileges stripped.

Using that as a base guideline what are your all CAA teams? I posted this on the Zone as well but I wanted RN's ballots of what they think the final ballot should look like. I know you guys have the RN "award" but I'm looking at the CAA overall. If I had a vote(I don't) here's what my ballot would look like

1st team
Denzel Bowles, JMU-Terrific Offensive talent, easily a POY canidate(he’ll finish 2nd or 3rd)
Frank Hassell-ODU- Does it all for ODU, and is simply a rock defensively
Cam Long- GMU- Gotta reward excellence when it’s due. A premier scorer but he also does the little things that makes the likely league champs run.
Chase Allen-NU- You guys are insane not to have chase first team. I have no doubt he’ll be first team. Tops in Assist to T/O ratio, 4th in scoring. 1st in steals. Leads his team in rebounding. He’s a first teamer.
Jenkins- POY- not much to say here, he’s got it locked

2nd Team.
Ryan Pearson GMU- Just misses the first team, but he had a steller year. definite POY canidate for next year
Kent Bazemore ODU- I think He’s the likely DPOY as well but he’s a solid player on both ends. Needs a little more consistentcy offensively but he’s a force
Jaime Skeen VCU-- Had some injury issues here and there but he was the leader of this VCU team offensively. In someways more then J-rod
Joey Rodriguez-VCU- He fell of a bit this year but he’s as skilled a PG as there is in the league.
Chris Fouch-DU-definition of beast mode offensively. best pure shooter in the league

3rd Team-
Brad Burgess-VCU- typical glue guy for VCU
Chad Tomko- UNCW- Offensively powerful and leads a resurgent UNCW team
Jawan Carter-JMU- Pretty solid player I could see him 2nd team as well
Luke Hancock- GMU-Also potentially 2nd team worthy but just too many great players making 2nd team.
Jon lee- huge impact in CAA play. I think a case could be made for him or Joel Smith. Lee probably more so for the pure leadership he provides that team.

Coach- Cassera
Freshman of the year- Saddler
Britt
Pierson
Ruffian and
Boatner
Sammie Givens- 2nd best rebounder in the league after Hassell.

3rd Team-
Brad Burgess-VCU- typical glue guy for VCU
Chad Tomko- UNCW- Offensively powerful and leads a resurgent UNCW team
Jawan Carter-JMU- Pretty solid player I could see him 2nd team as well
Luke Hancock- GMU-Also potentially 2nd team worthy but just too many great players making 2nd team.
Jon lee- huge impact in CAA play. I think a case could be made for him or Joel Smith. Lee probably more so for the pure leadership he provides that team.

i know you're a northeastern fan and all, but come on now. neither lee nor smith will sniff third team, especially when you don't have quinn mcdowell on any of the all-conference teams. i'd also take finney, givens, rendleman, and moore over both of those two.

oh, and here is my 2 cents (first team same as yours).

bowles
jenkins
hassell
long
allen

second team-

skeen
pearson
fouch
mcdowell
bazemore

third team-

burgess
tomko
carter
givens
moore

hancock, rodriguez, and finney are on my just miss list.

Your rookie team made me laugh, because I remember Brandenberg dropping 20+ on Britt and Boatner.
Yeah, I know it was one game, and you're probably right that as far as over for the season Britt and Boatner were fairly good, and it's probably just my bias, but I'd have Brandenberg on there over Britt and Boatner.

1st team
Denzel Bowles
Frank Hassell-ODU-
Cam Long- GMU-
Jenkins- POY- not much to say here, he’s got it locked
Jamie Skeen-VCU's only inside threat really stepped it up. Hasn't been dominated even against the power 6 teams or teams with multiple bigs. Not bad for a converted wing.

2nd Team.
Ryan Pearson GMU-
Kent Bazemore ODU-
Chase Allen NU-- Sorry Chase your good but this is the year of the winner (as in teams play).
Joey Rodriguez-VCU-
Isiah Philmore-Towson

3rd Team-
Brad Burgess-VCU-
Chad Tomko- UNCW-
Jawan Carter-JMU-
Luke Hancock- GMU-
Chris Fouch-Drex

Coach of Year Bruiser-
They lost key players prior to the beginning of the season. They should have been a bottom feeder. Currently 5th with a much needed (for the Conference) Bracket Buster win. Which team would you rather not play at home? Hofstra? or Drexel? How about CAA time?

Chase Allen VCU--?

Thanks. I made the edit. However, Finance is correct he would look good in black and gold. Also, he is a really nice kid. Met him once in Charlotte airport. Very well mannered young fella. Hope he gets a shot at the league.
