Received a call tonight from one of the lady soccer players thanking me for contributing to the VCU Athletic programs.

Nice idea touch I guess by the AD or one of the associates.
 
If I said it once, i'll say it again. The VCU Athletic department is a class act. Especially Scott Secules.
 
I got a call from someone with the baseball program! Must be a department-wide effort.

I agree with what JacksonWard31 has to say, especially Scott. I had been in Brooklyn for maybe all of a week, and I received a hand-written note from him wishing me the best up here. That is true class.

hey where is my call...I donated my $25 to be in the SRAF lol
 
I am very interested in donating once I graduate. Any recent alums have any advice on how to get started in this?

Go meet with Andrew Hartley. Just give him a call (number is on the VCU website) and tell him you'd like to sit down and discuss how everything works. He'll be happy to explain everything to you.
 
I started small many years ago during my last semester at VCU. I am fortunate to have a job with a company that matches my gifts (so I can be twice as generous to VCU). Check to see if your employer offers a similar program. Here's a link where you can do a search: http://www.matchinggifts.com/

Right now, i doubt very seriously that the Health System is doing any matching- not with the State budget cuts. But i could be wrong. As for the donating, and how the programs all work, yes- as someone mentioned earlier, (or actually, I guess it was sometimes, not someone :mrgreen: ).... all you've got to do is call Andrew Hartley. I won't post his #. Just look on the VCU athletic web-site, go to staff directory, and find it there. And bingo- he'll hook you up with everything you need to know. And you are in.
 
I received a call yesterday evening from a member of the ladies basketball team. Very nice. Norwood knows how to raise that $.
