Saw that Jeff Capel was on Twitter, sent him a tweet asking the following question:

@jeffcapel How much are you looking forward to your return to VCU this November???

and here's he reply I received (he sent it in a direct message.)

jeffcapel: I will have different emotions. Will be weird sitting on the other bench. But I still have a lotta luv 4 that place and some people there.

Thought some of you might find it interesting. I thought it was cool that he took the time to respond.

That message from Jeff is the reason that he will always rank at the top for me in terms of coaches at VCU. Jeff did indeed bring VCU basketball back to life - and really does seem to appreciate what he had here. Last fall I heard a wonderful interview on sports 950 with Greg Burton and Jeff was saying how his wife keeps up with VCU and lets him know what is happening - it was a great interview - and Jeff was being heartfelt in his comments about VCU and his time here. He knows we gave him the opportunity and he appreciates it.

The fact that he said "luv 4" instead of "love for" irks me.

I find the words that he had a lot of love for "some people" very interesting. Can that be interpreted that he didn't love a lot of love for others? Just curious.

I think it is more on the lines of new staffs bring in new people and the old people that he had love with got replaced with new faces that Capel doesn't know. Been alot of change since he was here
