First...decent website by the CBI http://www.gazellegroup.com/events/cbi/schedule.htm Even has VCU/GW highlights and Craig Ehlo's interview with Coach Smart (somewhat painful....Ehlo is kinda terrible)

Monday games 3/22 (RPI in parentheses)

Charleston (91) vs. VCU (66)

Wisc. Green Bay (107) vs St. Louis (87)

Princeton (133) vs IUPUI (83)

Morehead St. (84) vs Boston University (144)

I got VCU, St. Louis, Princeton (they do well in Indy...remember '96?), Morehead State

yeah those 4 picks are good ones. Assuming those 4 do win who would we face next? St Louis?

Apparently they reseed after this round. I think they'll end up having us play on the opposite side of the bracket from St. Louis. I would think that's the best championship matchup they could hope for.

We don't know. They reseed after Monday's games.

ok. yeah hopefully they we do end up on opposite side of St. Louis. Not that the rest arent good, but if we can win and avoid St. Louis til the end that will be good for us I think

I agree. I also think the attendance figures Monday night will go a long way to VCU getting a favorable semi-final opponent if VCU beats Charleston. This is a money tournament and from a revenue standpoint, I would think VCU/St. Louis would generate the most revenue in a 3 games series. We have to beat Charleston first though. Charleston is coached by Bobby Cremins and beat Mason @ Mason in the Bracketbuster game. This will be a tough game forVCU.

Agreed. Charleston has the potential to be a tough out, but if we come out playing inspired ball we shouldn't lose at home. Originally I think the team wasn't too interested in the CBI but after a W in DC I think they'll be refocused and ready to take it all.

Speaking of focused...I didn't get to see the game against GWU, but was Larry focused? I was able to listen to Robbie and Mike and it sounded, again, as if the team did better with Larry on the pine. Is that accurate/fair?

I would have to disagree with this. Is he apathetic at times, absolutely, and you could see it @GW, but i think we played better Tuesday night with him on the floor.

I'd bet that the number of times we play better with Larry is greater than the number of times we play better without him

Yeah, I'm bettin' you're right.

Oh, and I'll take VCU in the CBI. Hopefully this will be the first time in Ram history where we make the postseason and don't lose the final game of the season.

The game vs. Charleston Monday night is a 7PM game. St. Louis plays at 9PM vs. Green Bay. Both games are on HDNet. They are the only second round games on HDNet. I think it is pretty evident now, with both teams on TV again, who the CBI wants in the finals. Time to take care of business.

Well, if we get to a 3 game series for the final Larry ought to be really motivated - - that's NBA style playoff ball.

Saint Louis
VCU
IUPUI
Boston U

Agree with seeding us away from Saint Lous if we both win. While neither of us are national powers that just about the only matchup the rest of the country MAY care about. That and we are clearly the two best teams in this thing.

I got screwed and missed the game at Beef O'Brady's in Callaway. Called before, and they assured me they had the game on big screen. HDNetTV is what channel(s) on DirectTV. I know the owner and he has always secured a game for VCU postseason, but he was not there and its a new store.

Anyway, we won!
