Makes me feel a bit ashamed to see our fans bashing him just a couple weeks ago. :?

Ashamed isn't the word I was thinking of.

Folks may criticize him, but they still support him. I hope he stays and builds, he still has alot to learn.

Really? I didn't get that impression at all from a lot of the threads and posts. Of course, now some of those people support him. And the usual suspects disappeared, at least until the next loss.

One thing is consistent, it's always the most clueless posters who run right to the keyboard with their reasons why the coach blew the game and what he should have done. Of course, they're usually the funniest posts. Predictable, geeky, and repeats, but hysterical nonetheless.

I see it that all of us support the team, we just all do it a little differently. Why else would you be on that teams boards saying anything at all. Firing him is out of the question, but constructive critisizm is a good thing.

My only true feelings is if Coach Smart goes, VCU had better seriously consider Coach Rhodes. It would be a travesty in my mind not to.

I don't think we have to worry about him going yet, but if he does, Norwood's got a plan.

I agree about Rhoades. I suspect that may be why he was hired. Built-in backup plan, based upon our recent history. He was a terrific player and very successful coach. Learned from one of the best-Hal Nunnely. Love his intensity and life philosophy (read some of his tweets). Didn't he recruit Rob?

let's cool off this talk before the seaon is even over....shaka is a differnt guy...age-wise etc...he has the time to do something special and he appreciates where he is...
"to those that much is given, much is expected" or something close is one of the first quotes that I heard from Shaka...he lives by his mantras IMO

I think our toughest challenge will be keeping our assistants together through the off season (and I think that is important, others may not). Aside from Jones all of our coaching staff is coaching at a higher level or with a greater responsibility then they had previously. They all seem to be coming into their own. We will need them to hit the recruiting trail hard as soon as the season ends as well.
