Also, F giving UNC a 16 seed

I thought under the new format you had to finish above .500 in conference to make the tourney.

Good point. I guess they are above the rules. :?

no way the Big 6 conferences would agree to that as they have had under 500 clubs make it before.

Love the look of that bracket. How about Pitt having to play VCU or Rhodie in their first game? Probably wouldn't be took stoked about that one. Also, how about Northern Iowa not getting a bye after going something like 30(31?)-4 in the regular season?

The big question is whether making the CBS hypothetical 96 team field for last season is a greater accomplishment than winning the CBI? I think we should hang a banner for this NCAA berth.

oh, heh... this is a projection of what THIS season's (the one just finished) tourny may have looked like, not a projection for next season... then the 'narchs' 11 seed makes sense

duh

Literally merging the NIT with the NCAA.

IUPUI should be in the field somewhere.

Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis.

Personally I think this idea of 96 teams and the Top 8 in each region getting a first round bye is stupid.

1. Currently the only sport that gives first round byes to teams winning the Championship in that sport is NFL. MLB doesnt do it, NBA doesnt do it, NHL doesnt do it, the NCAA tournament w/ 64/65 if u count the play in game doesnt have it. So why all of a sudden do we need to change it?

2. By expanding the tournament to 96, not only do you have 32 teams getting first round byes, but you've also got teams that dont deserve to make the NCAA tourney, that will make it anyway because of their name, or because they're the defending champ.

I mean Im sorry I dont care if UNC was the defending champ..... they played like crap this year, and yet they made the NIT over teams that were WAY more deserving then them. I mean yeah people said we shouldnt have made the NCAA or NIT because we were a 5th place team in our conference, had 7 conf. losses and all that but we were way more deserving than UNC. But yet based on that "mock bracket" of what this years wouldve looked like w/ 96, UNC wouldve made it.

3. By expanding the tourney to 96..... are they going to allow Regular season winners as well as Conference tourney winners as automatic bids into the tourney?
