Why does our band play that C-Lo Green song "F- You"? What happens as a result....the entire student section all statrs singing, in chorus, "f... you" and pointing towards the Mason section.

How trashy is that? I know these are college kids...but at that age do you finally realize that its not kosher to be chanting or singing F... You in public where there are families and kids?

I thought it was poorly thought out by the band, and secondly...were low class that our students would do that.

Completely agree insane especially since we were getting murdered. I hate Maryland because they do this kind of garbage, I sure hope we never become as vulgar as they are.

I love the whole classy debate.

**Feel free to move this to the Embrace the Sarcasm thread**

I certainly was dropping f bombs all over the place last night. Felt like an ass afterwards too. I did check to make certain there were not any children in my immediate vicinity though. I certainly think the whole student section should try to adopt the F you instead of the other. I know I wouldn't feel comfortable bringing my little 3 year old and hearing that multiple times from half the arena. I'm glad I left her at home for the past two games.

Yeah it was little messed up but honestly the way that game sucked it gave me a good laugh. I think most of students were actually pointing at the refs not Mason.

darn, i thought this thread was gonna be about bruno mars' throwback motown tribute at the grammy's the other night.

sorry to interrupt. you may now all continue whining and complaning about anything/everything vcu basketball.

wake me up in a week or so.

I was in on it and didn't feel bad, it was all we had unfortunately. It's a student section, we're going to be vulgar at times (bullsh**t! chants, you suck, etc.) but we're not throwing things on the court or trying to be vulgar in front of children. They put us in the end zones away from your kids, but some of our sideline people we're definitely belting out some serious f bombs at the refs from what I could hear (understandable).

Well i was 50/50 on it. GMU fans behind me in section 27 were yelling every second of the game(not that they didn't have a right to with everything happening). They were also cussing and we had a lot of little kids around us as well so they were just as classy.

On a different note, that push in the back by Rozzell on Tate was extremely chippy and dangerous. You never push a guy in the back when he's in the air like that.

Yeah, that and the shot before the push were two extremely poor decisions from Brandon. Thankfully Tate didn't get hurt.

I thought everyone was saying forget. Can we get Art to weigh in on the classy debate please?

Some of the FU chants were to George Mason, but a lot of it was directed towards the refs. I was down in the lower right section of the student section, and the things that were being said to the refs probably didn't help our case. I'll admit I did yell some things like Stevie Wonder could of called a better game, but I think we've pissed off the refs a little too much, and honestly I think some of their calls have a major impact on the game. I'm not blaming the refs, but their nonsense calls/no calls are drive killers. Like when Theus gets a charge while in mid air, or Joey gets a travel after being pushed 5 feet, or Mason getting a time out a good five minutes after they stepped out of bounds, or even the fouls when our players gave a Mason player a pat on the back while Mason were mugging our players, and anything more would of been a $50,000 fine in the NFL. I know it's the players job not to let the refs dictate how they play, but I think after a while it eventually got to the players heads. I mean why drive to the basket when you there is a 50/50 chance you could get drawn to a charge. Then again that's when it is crucial to have a leader to rally the troops, and a vocal leader on this team is something we are missing. We are missing one player that can just take over the game. I mean we have them, but they are freshmen, and every time they get a run then just end up on the bench.
