am i the only one who is just giddy as a schoolgirl that this dude is the coach of our most hated rival? he's like the gift that keeps on giving.

why would he try to run and gun with a run and gun team on their home court, especially since his guards are nowhere near as good as those of the rams? down 2 at the half, i told my fiancee sitting here on the couch that we would run them out of the gym in the second half because their gameplan was all wrong.

for them to have had a chance, they needed to slow the game down to a snails pace, work it inside, and be patient. instead, they seemingly had no offensive gameplan on offense whatsoever. they played right into our guys hands. if i were an opposing coach like taylor, the first thing i would do is sit down and watch the last two seasons worth of the rams game against NU, and watch them 3 times over.

that said, great second half by the rams. just fantastic. thanks again for the assist, mr. taylor!

who knows why it happened, but they were kicking our ass and then out of the blue they shot like 3 or 4 three pointers in row and then we went on that 9-0 run
ThanksODU!!

Monarch Nation is saying the same thing
they have given up hope of winning the tourney
they are hoping for an at-large berth

Their defense is a joke, a zone normally gives us fits and we handled it with ease. Teams don't score a lot on them because they slow it down. So much for us not getting to 60... oh wait that was supposed to be 70.

We've handled the zone rather well this year honestly. Now last year it killed us.

I like the fact that he also likes to throw in the towel at the end of the game ............. no fouls = ZERO chance of a comeback. I know it's unlikely anyway, but personally I would fight to the last second. My team's would lose some games by 20 instead of 12 - but you never know!!

The middle of it was wide open. On TV it did look like a joke.

And Blainiac is looking more and more like Mac every year.

the game was tied after they had a 3 pt half time lead and he sat Bazemore, Lee and Hassell at the 15 min mark and we went on a a mini run that moved the momentum our way...the guy is a maroon

I still think they have an excellent D. We played well and we have some players that match-up well with them--especially our bigs helping to offset their strong rebounding ability.

I saw ODU's put the clamps on Georgetown several weeks ago at Georgetown. Today Georgetown ran up over 100 on Villanova. CAA isn't the Big East [no conference compares], but CAA is improving.

PS
I really liked Coach Smart's game plan. He decided to come out and slug-out a half court game. I think much of that success (if dictated by coaching) was the result of KP's early aggressiveness. At 6' 8" and 265, KP is a load. Being able to play multiple styles makes this Ram edition very dangerous. If we keep developing, NCAA's are reasonable expectation, even without winning CAA tournament.

I saw the Georgetown game. Wasn't a great effort at all by the Hoyas. Very sloppy.

Thtas crap ODU killed them flat out -I watched the game and they put it to them. This is a very good team we beat tonight.

Georgetown looked like they thought they could turn it on any time they wanted to and they couldn't. It wasn't a great effort by the Hoyas. 18 turnovers - and mostly of the careless variety, not because of pressure/pressing.

In addition, once you get on top of ODU, it's tough for them to mount a comeback. They just don't have the shooters.
