Ok all you monday morning coaches-we out rebounded by 5 and did not miss a free throw so shut up with those stat excuses why we dont win -we gave them more shots because of TO s and steals and fouls. Coach whatever your philosophy is when we have a big lead is ass backwards- our seniors are choking in the clutch fellows-its called senoritis-sad sad night -we played so well for so long-we have the potential to be a great team-I have never been so mad about what I saw period.

I want to blame the coaches too (I want to blame all of you, my wife, my child, everyone), but it seemed to me as though they were trying to make adjustments all night.

-weathered the storm through smart subbing when we got in foul early in the first half
-through up a solid 2-3 zone at times

Coaches can't help 21 fouls and 21 stupid turnovers.

Our point guards were horrendous, a combined 3-12 if you count Rob who was running it at times...and Joey got 38 minutes (ok so maybe that's bad coaching at this point), Darius had 21, and Rob had 17, so they used some guys out there.

We need our senior guards to play like senior guards or this will probably be the norm.

Natty, our pg's don't need to score, they just can't turn the ball over like Mr. Rodriguez did tonight.

We have a coach? Come on now...it's all in good fun.

Perhaps we are not very good and we've all bought into the hype a little too much.

Doesn't help out we start out with a 2 PG lineup... This Theus and Joey starting crap needs to go away! I'm just waiting for the day that Shaka thinks we need three out there...

We built a 10+ point lead with both of them on the floor.

Should it have been a 20 point lead?! :?

I'm not really understanding where the hype came from in the first place. Losing Larry, what were everyone's reasonable expectations for the season as a whole to begin with?

Were you actually watching the game? The way UAB played at the beginning of the game... they wouldn't have been leading most teams

I think what we have to ponder as fans is whether Shaka has a lot to work with and is getting too little out of the team, or if he has little to work with and is getting everything he can out of them? Or is it somewhere in the middle? I am in the camp of "we are underachieving"...and not improving.

This is basically the direction I've been leaning toward this season. That's not to say I think we're bad... just not very good, not that much better than more other teams than I would like, and certainly not as good as expectations/hype/wishful thinking.

I think it's the former. For 36 minutes we dominated the game. We made them adjust to our tempo. We dictated the pace of the game. We made them take bad shots. We confused the snot out of them with our constanly switching from man-to-man, to 2-3 zone, to 3-2 matchup zone (I was surprised to see that one being utilized, but it really threw them off early in the 2nd half when they cut it to 8).

Then the gremlins took over. We started taking poor shots. We started throwing the ol' ball around, Steve Spurrier style. We turned the ball over on every possession. Coaching can only go so far if the players do not execute.

I am adamant that we miss Larry Sanders more than we want to admit.

I disagree completely. Any person who sees this team live, knows how good we are. Sure, we haven't put it together and it's certainly not running on all cylinders, but the talent is there and this team can do some things this year. I hope this team still has some things to show us going into CAA play and come March.

....and I gotta go in this direction! That, and what Duck just said is something I have said to at least 3 people off the boards tonight, this team with Larry is so much different than it is without.....
