LaSalle's Fran Dunphy is retiring at the end of the season.

Posted this is another thread, but posting it here as well to keep everything in one place. Sorry for double post.

Coaching changes is saying that VCU's former assistant coach Jeremy Ballard is likely done at FIU. If true, VCU great Joey Rodriguez would also be out of a job as he is an assistant coach there.

I wonder how likely it would be for Joey to come back to VCU as an assistant if one of our current assistants leaves after this season?

Unless Coach Odom leaves, I think he would wind up with Rhoades or Shaka before he wound up here. I don't know about you, but I don't want anyone from the current coaching staff going anywhere.

You never know.

Yeah, more than likely. We do have Burgess and Theus here, though, which is why I wondered.

Considering Joey wasn’t even in the loop with Rhoades and made him look like a fool I don’t think Rhoades calls him. Shaka maybe but I don’t know as he’s probably set at Marquette. Joey could be brought in in some capacity.

Depending on how the rest of the season shakes out (but if we stay our current course) I'd expect some really high end HM programs (IE not bottom feeders like Penn State) to reach out to Odom.

Not sure if he's ready to move up or not yet, but he's certainly one of the most capable coaches we've had in the modern era, probably next to Wade, as far as coaching ability.

I wouldn't be surprised if Billy Donovan doesn't wind up back in college somewhere. The pro experience isn't really working out for him so far
