Coaching Rumors and Changes that Affect VCU

It starts with Indiana, unless they pick someone outside the college ranks such as Donovan or Steven's (very unlikely).
Somebody will take a chance on WW this year (not saying Indiana).

BTY, didn't these threads use to be title "insert current VCU coach name" watch?

Depending on how the rest of the season shakes out (but if we stay our current course) I'd expect some really high end HM programs (IE not bottom feeders like Penn State) to reach out to Odom.

Not sure if he's ready to move up or not yet, but he's certainly one of the most capable coaches we've had in the modern era, probably next to Wade, as far as coaching ability.
LaSalle perhaps...

I wonder how likely it would be for Joey to come back to VCU as an assistant if one of our current assistants leaves after this season?

My sense is Joey finds something in Florida, either at another college or high school. His roots are in Florida. His family is from Florida and he is very close to his family.

Do not know the reputability of this source and whether there is any validity

This has already been posted here. If you look in the comments to that tweet, someone points out that the same person said in 2023 that Grant was retiring. Maybe the guy is right this time ... who knows.

Grant is only 58 years old. That is still young by basketball standards. Although, the new college game, requires a lot of resources from the coaches and schools. Perhaps like Tony Bennett, he is tired of all the extra "things" involved in the college game.

Denver Pioneers have placed Jeff Wulbrun on indefinite leave, and they've elevated assistant coach Shammond Williams to interim head coach. Williams is a Fork Union grad, and he was an assistant coach to fODU's women's team up until just last year.

Yeah, Brad Stevens isn't likely to leave the Celtics. Why would he at this point?

The Celtics will have a change in ownership, but it's being done in two parts over the next 3 or 4 years. Besides, he has a great team, and he seems to love what he's doing.

I like Anthony Grant and have a great deal of respect for him as a coach and as a human being. I would hold him in even higher regard if he hadn’t been in such an all fired hurry to get out of Richmond. It appears to me that many Dayton fans expected more from him despite the fact he has kept them nationally relevant and a perennial power in the A10. To me that speaks more about their expectations rather than his coaching ability.

Keep saying it each year, and one time he'll be right.
