I know it's still early in the season, but couldn't help but notice that our conference is ranked 8th with half the conference in the top 100 rpi. I can't remember the last time the conference had numbers like this. I just wonder what this could mean later on in the season during conference play and possible chances of having mulitple bids to the NCAA tourney.

Just saw that myself, was kind of surprised actually. Definitely helps when teams other than the usual suspects (VCU, ODU, GMU) are getting it done. Really impressed with what Delaware and Drexel have accomplished so far. Even if they don't have many "huge wins", they've won the ones they needed to (UNCW has actually done a decent job as well minus that loss to NC A&T). Drexel has a great opportunity to help this conference out with two games against ranked opponents (Louisville and Syracsue, both very beatable if you ask me) about a week apart. Looking forward to ODU @ #12 Mizzou, Mason @ Dayton, Delaware @ #11 Villanova, JMU @ Kent St (as well as South Florida), and our game @ UAB. Hopefully the CAA gets to Bracket Buster weekend in good shape with some shots at some high profile games.

I love basketball season...

We're going to have to start rooting for Louisville now. If they have the season they had last year, that win won't mean all that much in the grand scheme of things.

We also have to root for Oakland and Montana. Every win they get results in better RPI for Tennessee and UCLA - resulting in a better Strength of Schedule for us.

writer for that Drexel game didnt even mentio they are CAA-probably doesn't know-lol Great win lfor them on the road.

seems a bit silly to link to another post with the same information when it has less responses.

Drexel just popped #21 Louisville at Louisville.

I guess Drexel and ODU are the CAA at-large candidates now. Each has a better win (or two) than us.

CAA's First ever 3 bid season? VCU autobid, ODU and Drexel at-large bids? hmm

Drexel needs to win out in non-conference play for that to be any sort of possibility. Same with ODU.

Real Time RPI has the CAA up to number eight today. No doubt Drexel's big win the pevious evening helped in that regard.

Some of the notable scalps taken by CAA teams already this season
Louisville
Clemson
Xavier
UCLA
Wake (2)

Now, if we could only keep the bottom feeders from dragging us back down into the pit come tourney selection time.

We need the bottom feeders to be bottom feeders and lose lots and lots of games in conference play. It does nothing for us if teams like Georgia State and Delaware beat JMU and ODU.

Conference affiliation does not help unless a team is in the Power Six, and conference RPI only hurts in that regard, not helps. (The Missouri Valley conference knows that all too well, as their legitimate second and third bids always seem to get snubbed on Selection Sunday.)

I'm sorry you disapprove.
It was more of a reference that the subject was brought up days ago in the CAA section.
