Rob's team defeated the #1 ranked Northland Vikings this evening with a score of 71-45. This win secured the Ohio State Division I title!

Of note: Northland has the #1 recruit in the country this year. 6'9, 265 lb center and Ohio State commit, Jared Sullinger.( http://scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p= ... id=3018890 )

Rob lead his team in scoring with 19. Sullinger scored 24.

The story:

http://columbuslocalnews.com/articles/2 ... 914678.txt

Everyone in the standing-room-only Ohio Expo Center Coliseum expected a good game, probably a great game when Northland met Gahanna Lincoln in the Division I Region 3 final Saturday, March 20.

The Vikings were undefeated and the No 1-ranked boys basketball team in not only the state, but the country, and the Golden Lions, also undefeated, were Ohio’s D-I No. 2-ranked squad.

So not only did Lincoln beat the #1 player in the country, but the #1 team in the country. Nice win of Rob!

Not just beat them...put whoopin on em!!
Don't you just get a feeling that kid is a winner.
Glad he'll be at VCU next year.

Very cool to see Rob with the net around his neck, cutting down nets will be something he will do plenty of over the next 4 years. Nice post John.

Mr. Brandenberg...we are very happy to have you. 8-)

Anytime you get the #11th ranked prospect in a big basketball state like Ohio...it's a good thing.

#1 Jared Sullinger C Columbus, OH Northland
Sullinger recently led All-Ohio Red to their third consecutive AAU National Championship. The skilled post man is already as decorated as any player in Ohio basketball history, and another state title could cement his place as one of the all-time greats in the state. At 6-foot-8 and 260 pounds, Sullinger is in the best shape of his life, and is absolutely in contention to be named the top player in the country.
5 stars 6'8" 260 Ohio St.

#2 Adreian Payne C Dayton, OH Jefferson
The natural talent that he has is unreal. He had an inconsistent, but there is no doubting the natural ability.
5 stars 6'10" 215 Michigan St.

#3 Jordan Sibert G Cincinnati, OH Princeton
Sibert got injured very early in the summer, but he still is a heck of a prospect.
4 stars 6'4" 180 Ohio St.

#4 Juwan Staten G Mouth of Wilson, VA Oak Hill Academy
Juwan is off to Oak Hill, but he is still an Ohio kid. His talent as a lead guard is impressive.
4 stars 5'11" 170 Dayton

#5 Aaron Craft G Findlay, OH Liberty Benton
Craft turned up his game in a big way this summer. He proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he can be a productive lead guard in college.
3 stars 6'0" 179 Ohio St.

#6 Griffin McKenzie F Cincinnati, OH Moeller
Not many players McKenzie's size can shoot like he is capable. A big July led to an explosion of offers.
3 stars 6'9" 220 Xavier

#7 J.D. Weatherspoon F Columbus, OH Northland
There is no doubting his athletic ability, but his summer was a struggle at times.
3 stars 6'6" 200 Ohio St.

#8 Geron Johnson G Dayton, OH Dunbar
He is so talented it is scary. Johnson has a lot of work to do off the court, but on it he is special.
6'3" 170 list

#9 Cameron Wright G Cleveland, OH Benedictine
Wright had a good summer, and rebounded to become a highly sought after prospect.
