For the upcoming season, the university is doing financially better than last season. The uncertain future for the fall season and schedule are contributing factors to surging sales said Assistant Director of Ticket Operations, Vic Cegles.

"We have the excitement from the new coach," Cegles said. "(The) excitement of not knowing how this year is going to go has kept people very interested. Also, our schedule is excellent this season. We have the best schedule we've ever had."

According to VCU athletics, since the 2002-03 season, total ticket revenue has increased steadily every season. Student and public attendance reached the highest numbers of the decade in the 2007-08 season. This past 2008-09 season was the highest year of revenue in the history of VCU basketball.

Excellent!

Money lubes our future: money for recruiting, money for academic support, money for coaches, money for administrative support, money for facilities, money for charter flights, money to market Rams-to- Richmond, money...

Building a winning tradition, one dollar at a time!

I won't be happy until we sell out every game and there is gold and black in every seat. Having said that, however, we have come a long way from the days of the Franklin Street gym and the Richmond Coliseum. Things keep looking better each year.

I was happy with over 5700 last night for this game. With students on break and the holiday season you always worry about the crowd. I was happy when I came out of the Bowe St deck and saw a line for tickets. Last night was a good "walk up" crowd I think. Basketball people know about Nevada and their program, but some casual fans came to see VCU last night, not the opponent. I think they had a pretty good time and got a good taste of what we do ........

you know one of the reasons our basketball program is doing financially better this year is because we got a great coach for 1/3 the cost of the previous coach
