The Washington Post blogger Dan Steinberg puts together a very funny poll of schools in the area its a pretty good read.

My favorite this week: -- Patriots still not sure why Antonio Cromartie doesn't like them. (John Albers)

VCU comes in at 6 behind G'town, ODU, UMD, VaTech and Richmond. Also mentions VCU as well as 3 other CAA schools have higher RPI than VaTech and UMD pretty interesting.

I think VT basketball fans are real crybabies. Last year VT deserved not to make the NCAA. The same will likely happen this year. Tech had such a weak non-conference schedule for an ACC school in 2009-10, playing NJIT (which had a winless year in 2008) Campbell and UMD Baltimore County. I understand Greenberg could be mad at Penn State for not returning a game. But VT also had the opportunity to play WVU and opted not to only for one reason I think, because they couldn't win. Tech racked up the wins in late 2009 but they didn't raise their RPI enough to be considered.

I also can't stand Seth Greenberg. He is a windbag. Why wouldn't he play the good schools in Virginia such as GMU, ODU and Richmond? There are huge VT alumni bases in northern, central and eastern Virginia.

I completely agree with you on Greenberg. Though he did try to schedule some good OOC games this year. Might I add you might want to add VCU and JMU to that list of good schools. oh and F the spiders.

Yeah, I dont get why Greenberg wouldnt schedule ODU. That would be such a guaranteed W.

Posted a couple days ago. Funny update.. and we're up to #4.

4. VCU (15-5) 231 (2)
Next: Thursday vs. Hofstra.

-- Rams have a play much like the Picket Fence from "Hoosiers." They like to call it the (Rob) Brandenberg Gate. (Ivan Snyder)

-- Went from CBI bubble to possible Atlantic 11 Champion in one week. (Brendan Darr)

-- Winner of VCU-Hofstra might be this year's George Mason. Unless or course, George Mason becomes this year's George Mason. (Markus Videnieks)

-- When your tuition increase (32%) nearly matches your basketball team's 3 point shooting percentage (36%), you either are about to paying a lot more money for school or you have a crappy basketball team. (John Albers)

Not really worried about the rankings but the comments are usually pretty funny all around.

We are listed at #3...I don't get the Darius Theus reference :?

because both first and last name sound vaguely like a name a Greek/etc hero might have

....but yeah, it's kinda weak

Probably because they are in the ACC and we are not.
