When I saw the VCU game had sold out I was frankly surprised. I realize it's homecoming, but that's a pretty big place to sell out for lowly UNCW(as of late).
But then it dawned on me. Buzz Peterson. If there's anything a Virginia basketball fan hates, it's Carolina basketball. And right in their own arena, would be a hated Tarheel on the UNCW bench. A chance to take out decades of frustration and anger on their nemisis for his first visit to VCU.
I look forward to the next few years as Buzz strolls into the heart of CAA basketball in Virginia with a full roster and a deep bench. And if UNCW finds it's way back to the top of the CAA where we belong, the crowds are going to be insane. Last night was a preview of what we can expect from here on out.
Not sure how to compensate Buzz for the crowds he will bring to games in Virginia, but don't doubt that he WILL draw the crowds. It's great to have exictement back at the Dub'.
