I never saw one article where he was appreciative of the opportunity given him here once he announced he was leaving.
Did anyone hear him state that ?
I watched all the press conf. and never heard him say thanks for the job.

I heard that VCU will do something to honor him at some point this spring. Not sure of the date. But I'm busy that night anyway.

I hope that's a joke.

No, I actually heard it. I think it was at the presser for Coach Smart, and one of the speakers said that they would do something for Grant later, but that the presser was for Smart.

It was Trani.

I have no idea why we'd do anything for Grant. The guy didn't coach here for 15 years and retire or something (as I suspect Larranaga will do at GMU). He breezed through here, won a lot of games and made a lot of money - - while entertaining other job offers each year til finally accepting big money at a lackluster BCS program. Doesn't there need to be something long-term and enduring about him before we honor him?

Now, if Trani and the AD want to do something then fine - - they can all get together, have drinks, slap each other on the back and talk about the good 'ole days.

Shaka's our man now. If we do anything for Grant it should be to kick his team's a$$ when they come to the Stu in a couple of years.

Honestly, I am not angry about the Grant thing, just puzzled why we care what he does now after spending only 3 seasons at VCU.

Rick, I also just checked my calendar. Tied up that night, too. I don't care if I ever see Grant again. Never have I been so disappointed in a person.

I have to wash my cat. Won't be able to make it either.
