Luke Piotrowski --Good Get For Spiders
by RamJamFan on Sun Aug 08, 2010 9:55 pm

I know...this belongs in off topic. Since we can count on one quality OOC school to play us every year [UR] I thought RamNation would find this 6' 10" NJ recruit signing of interest. Seriously, aren't you looking forward to DJ taking him on in the years ahead?

Luke Piotrowski won't be the first Piotrowski the Rams have faced.

Tom Piotrowski, Luke's dad, was the starting center for LaSalle, March 17, 1983, when VCU faced the Philly school in the first round of the NCAA playoffs in Greensboro. The game drew 10,051 fans - including a chartered bus of Ram supporters that left from old Azalea Mall (now deserted).

The elder Piotrowski had a rough night - 4 points, 3 boards - and the Rams rolled, 76-67. Calvin Duncan had 22, Fred Brown 18, Mike Schlegel 16 and Randy Corker 10 for coach Barnett's gold 'n' black. Two days later, the Rams lost 56-54 to Georgia in a controversial finish that still raises the hairs on the back of Rams fans necks.

Remember both games like they were played yesterday! Thanks for the memories.
